Codecs SAF v6 (based on LAVF) (3 Viewers)

Hi everyone:

Just wondering, has anyone encountered any issues installing /upgrading to SAF v6.21? My SAF is unlocked (has been unlocked since v4 days) but when I tried to install 6.21, it says UNLOCKED (Offline), and seemed the unlocked codecs didn't get downloaded. RMVB playback broke after installing 6.21 for me - it was working before. I have also checked and confirmed I do (still) have WGET.EXE on my system.

Anyone has any ideas what could be wrong?

Would it be possible to somehow send <480P h264 movies to ffdshow and >480P h264 movies to LAV ?

ie.

splitter -> ffdshow (bypass decoding bc >480P) -> LAV -> renderer

splitter -> ffdshow (<480P, decode with ffdshow) -> renderer

all decided within the graph?

Yes.
Increase ffdshow merit over LAV. Then add profile to ffdshow to ignore videos with resloution >=480.
Then LAV should be in use.

There is no ignore mode/pass through mode, there is only just unticking every box. However if i do this it still decodes the video. if i disable h264 then ffdshow doesn't load for any h264 videos so I can't use ffdshow for <480P. Ideally if I could make a decision at the splitter level, but I don't see any splitters that offer this level of customization.

You need to create new profile in FFDshow and configure rules for it when it should be loaded.

Thanks. I know how to set profiles, I have 15 conditional profiles, but I can't find an option to not decode inside a profile. Once a profile is loaded it seems to be already decided that you will decode with ffdshow.

Well, this may be true, i am not using the profiles for some time.

Yes, I think what I want is not possible. It is a shame they never implemented a pass-through mode like they did with audio.

On firt look i see you have messed system - it is full of decoders - PoverDVD8, PowerDVD 9, Nero, MainConcept (Hauppauge), NAGA...

Uninstall them all then reinstall SAF.
