Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

I'm using ffdshow audio and use the delay function to match up the audio (190ms) or else all my Avis, mkvs etc are not synced.. Also all the pass thru options are off even though I'm using spdif.

Also I'm using the spdif 5.1 encoding function in ffdshow.

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

I am thinking to recommend using PDVD11 decoder as primary video decoder for MePo.

Does this apply to SAF 5 as well? I've had mostly pleasant time with SAF and .mkv files, but last night I had some issues (but only with the one TV episode, so might be bad encoding). Is PDVD11 better than FFDShow for x264 video?

    Thanks

I am talking about FFDShow DXVA decoder, not FFDshow video decoder. PDVD decoder should handle DXVA for h.264/VC-1/MPEG-2.

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

its taken me 7 years but ive finally got a codec solution that works

I'm using the new saf 6 now with the Lavf splitter .. This now let's me play blu rays at proper speed. Although I can't get 5.1 with the Lavf audio decoder. I can get the 5.1 core from any blu ray if I turn the setting in ffdshow audio decoder for DTS to "disabled" and register MpaDecFilter.ax in the MP directory and use MPC-MPA audio decoder. I have CoreAvc 2.5.5 currently installed and haali matroska splitter uninstalled. The Lavf splitter does a fine job instead. If I disbale further in ffdshow, ac3, dts, truehd and aac, then powerdvd10 audio codecs come in and that gives me a smooth video compared to if ffdshow does the audio. All in all it's a mess.. But it work for everything finally and perfect on my DTS amp!

noone sneeze or it might break ..lol

    Hello,

in SAF5 you recommended using the Microsoft DTV decoder for TV when using Windows 7 (instead of the PDVD codec for instance). Do you still recommend this?

Try both and choose the "working better" one :)

Will do :). Is there anything I need to do, so that the MS DTV codec also uses DXVA? Or should it work 'out of the box'.

    It should work.
BTW, small warning - if you have ATI older than 4xxx and you will try to play h.264 video with 5.1 profile, you will get corrupted image. 5.1 profile is supported on 4xxx (and newer) GPUs only.

Do you mean just with the MS DTV codec or with h.264 DXVA codecs in general (PDVD11 etc. too)?
