Big thx for all the great work so far!

But I have an issue. I normally use saf 5. In there I could get DTS-HD and DOLBY DIGITAL TRUE-HD working with the combination of the ffdshow audio codec and the arcsoft audio renderer (instead of default).

Now in SAF 6 (latest version) I cannot use this comination anymore. I can only choose lav audio decoder. Is it even possible with the lav audio decoder to passthrough these formats?

I own a ASUS xonar HDAV 1.3 sound card.

Q: Can LAV Audio decode DTS-HD?
A: Kind of. On its own, it cannot. But, LAV Audio supports using the ArcSoft DTS decoder, which allows decoding of full DTS-HD. Just drop the "dtsdecoderdll.dll" from the TMT3/5 Codecs directory into LAV Audio's directory, and enjoy.

But where can I put this dll?

As hoborg stated some posts ago the .dll should already be in the right place and passthrough also should work.
Did you test DTS-HD + TrueHD with LAVF Audio Decoder?

@hoborg, what kind of stream should that be? From digital TV (DVB-C)?

That does not matter. I just need any TS recording with DD+ audio stream.

Please try the file under this link and give a yell when you have it.
The file comes from Dutch digital HD-TV with 2 audio-streams, one should be DD according to the info on the display of my DVB-C receiver.

Yes, I did. But it doesn't work. Video stops playing. Guess my soundcard is a bit picky.

People keep posting that they can't see/select/use ffdshow audio decoder anymore...

In my set-up (win 7 64-bit + MP 1.1.3.0) i can select/see/use ffdshow audio decoder without any problems.

Hi,

I have a strange problem, several mkv videos, cause MP to crash, I get a pop-up window: MediaPortal has stopped working. Windows can search online..
When I return to the Desktop, I don't have the taskbar.

If I open MP again, the same video will cause MP to crash again, but if I play a different video for a second or two, stop the playback, and choose the "problematic" video, it plays well and so the other "problematic" videos, they all play well, and when exiting to desktop I have my taskbar again.

EDIT:
I checked all these videos with Graphstudio, they all failed to play, but then I've noticed that all of them have internal subtitles and the subtitle node from the LAV splitter is connected to an Internal Script Command Interpeter block and not to FFDSHOW DXVA block, so I enabled internal subtitles with DXVA (It was disabled) After enabling internal subtitles in DXVA, these files played fine with Graphstudio.

But not in MP, the problem with MP remains the same, first I have to start a video without internal subtitles, stop it, and then I play those with the internal subtitles.

I've tried to disable DXVA subtitles completely (MP subtitles also disabled) but it doesn't help.

I've changed in MP setup, h.264 video decoder - from ffdshow DXVA video decoder to ffdshow video decode and the problem disappeared.

Any advice on how to solve it?

And about subtitles:

1. If I enable internal subtitles with DXVA, how do I switch subtitles, from internal sub 1 -> internal sub 2 -> external subs.

Any tip will help.
