Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

@psykix:
The rule are simple - if it is working in Graphstudio, then SAF is working as it should :)

You have misread what I have written.. I couldn't get ffdshow disabled in Graphstudio.

To prove your point above, I need to get Graphstudio to use PDVD11 as the H.264 codec..

Anyway, I will spend some more time on it tonight and see what happens!

Make sure you disabled h.264 in both FFDShow and FFDShow DXVA video decoders.
If FFDshow is still in use, it is not h.264 video.

SAF might be working in those cases but the end result might not be the wanted one :) Since MP and GraphEdit have different system requirements and MP's graph building is not follow the same rules as graph building in GraphEdit you simply cannot say that there would be a bug in MP in such case, but the cases need to be checked one by one to decide what is causing the issue.

Hopefully you understand those differences and are helping the users to find out the real reason - just blaming MP blindly wont help anyone.

    Ok..

I disabled H.264 in DXVA and Graphstudio now uses PDVD11.

    However..

The movie plays fine in Graphstudio! No lip sync problems..

So.. I guess I need to look at what's different in MePo?

EDIT: tried Microsoft codec, and lip sync issue with that too - also tried MS audio codec and same problem.

Will revert back to SAF5.02 and see if it is resolved.

Same problem with SAF5.02 and PDVD10 and ffdshow for audio...

    Hmm!!

I don't remember having this problem previously, so I am wondering if I have something set differently in MePo..

    Clutching at straws now!

    I didnt blame anything.
For me it is important to make it working correctly in Graphstudio.

i downloaded a concert live, format is mpeg-2 transport stream but i only hear audio and dont see the video. any ideas how i can fix this? its over 5 gigs so not sure how i can upload a sample lol

    thanks.

If you simply rename your file from .TS to .M2TS - does it helps?

Try to change video renderer in MePo settings VMR9<=>EVR.
But if you have old GPU, there is nothing i can do.

I have the same problem as elvis56 but your solutions did not work for me. Any other suggestions? Funnily enough I can play the .ts file in other media players and get image but no sound. Either way, I can't seem to watch this stream.

But for MP users it is not the same as working MP system. On MP forums it would be better to focus to sort out the issues people are having.

Most likely a stupid question, so I appologise in advance.

How do I force SAF to always, and only play files at 2 channel audio? Find all my HD rips to have extremely quiet sound (TV at max sound, computer at max sound and you can JUST hear the audio.. if there is not background sound)

If you dont using passthrough, then make sure you setup your Windows mixed to stereo.

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

Last night I tried two other MKV files. One was a DTS-HD Master and the other was DTS 5.1 (same as the problem MKV).

Both files played fine in MePo. So it is not a problem with all files - and the ones I do have trouble with play fine in Graphstudio, so doesn't seem to point to codec issues.

Are there any settings in MePo I can check? I have refresh rate changer enabled - dunno if that would have an effect..

First try to check what in common those files have that are failing to have proper A/V sync.

It shoulldn't matter, but you can easialy check it by turning it off.
