Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

question: how you switch manual from "normal" output to reciever output (SPDIF, HDMI) ??

instead of reinstall SAF and answering the questions about the reciever thing..

If I got you right.

1. In Windows you can go to sound devices and select an output device (SPDIF, HDMI) a receiver connected to.
2. In audio filter settings you can enable/disable passthrough of an audio signal. If passthrough is enabled receiver itself will decode an audio format.

how do you adjust 2 In audio filter settings you can enable/disable passthrough of an audio signal. If passthrough is enabled receiver itself will decode an audio format ????

where to find these settings?

It depends on a way you have configured your installation.

By default a LAVF audio decoder is used. I configure it by running GraphStudio from SAF->tools and selecting/configuring this filter in insert filter.
FFDSHOW audio filter has its own configuration tool in SAF->ffdshow

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

It isnt that funny for me. Is thee any chance to analyze the the problem? Which player dous mepo use, can i open it manuelly?
I found out that adding fddshowdxvadecoder to video post processing in mepo is solving my problem.
You can start watching video in MePo, run GraphStudio and connect to remote graph there. You will get info which filters are really used.
Also I have switched to ffdshow audio decoder because I had strange freezes playing some m2ts files. But it was not adding ffdshow to postprocessing, but selecting ffdshow as an audio decoder in MePo that helped me.

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

Hi,

here are my results.

I've prepared another HTPC for my buddy last couple of weeks and installed saf 4 though og my problems switching from AC3/DTS to HDMI Audio in SAF 5 and above. I tried one of the problem videos on that HTPC and had no problems cpu usage around 10%

Then i uninstalled saf 6 and installed saf 5.02 on my HTPC with the same result in SAF 6. The video stutters and CPU usage is about 80-90%. In both cases the video was placed on the user desktop. MY HTPC is a core 2 due 2x2,1 GHZ with ATI Radeon HD4650, the HTPC of my buddy is ION Chipset Celeron 2x2,2 GHZ with onboard gpu. So it shouldnt be my hardware.

Now i reinstalled saf 6 and still have the same prob, for me im using fddshowdxva as post processing but still waiting for some anwsers wheter there is some bad influence for me.

Also switch to fddshowaudio did not help me.

Whats the worst case using fddshowdxva as post processing????

Thanks
Henric

@Henric-a:

...and we are still waiting for you MePo LOGs :)
Reproduce the problem and post MediaPortal LOGs.

BTW, cay you try some better GPU? HD4xxx is "outdated", even cheap HD6450 (64bit.) is better...

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

Here is my mepo.log. Is tehre another log file u need?

Thanks
Henric

You have some errors in this LOG.
Graph is crashing.
Make sure you are setup MePo to use default audio renderer.

Code:
2011-10-17 12:35:30.116145 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: Added filter: ffdshow Video Decoder to graph

By some reason, MePo add normal FFDshow video decoder instead of FFDShow DXVA one.
Make sure you setup MePo to use FFDshow DXVA video decoder.

Simply check MePo logs, there is error.lig too. Look inside and firstly try to eliminat all errors.

But if you files play OK in graphstudio, it is not a SAF problem, so you should start a new forum for this...

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

I'm using SAF 4 and now 5.02 quite some time and everything works great. But now there are more and more 10bit encoded video files that SAF 5.02 can't play back. Is 6.00 able to do so? Or is there any way to implement this feature by myself?

Can you post some sample? I didnt think i have one to test.

Here you can find one short 10bit anime file: Free File Hosting, Online Storage &amp File Upload with FileServe . It is being played in MediaPortal, but there are some clear pixel issues. With other files I tested there are less problems, but they are still visible.

In the CCCP forums it is said that one of the latest ffdshow-tryouts is able to play 10bit encoded files, but I don't want to mess with my filters...

Thanks!

Thanks.
I nearly always update FFDshow when i release new SAF build, so "latest" FFDshow is already included in SAF.

Thanks!

And Lav Video Decoder (included in SAF6) can also play 10-bit files.
