Hi,

Do you think using 64-bit version of LAV and FFDShow filters would bring any benefits on Win 7 x64?

Thanks,
Victor

    I have MediaPortal x64 build.

You must be the only person who has, MP is totally 32bit application, so only works with other 32bit software, hence only the codecs supplied.

X64 is a add on to the Win7 32bit release, it just means it can run both.

Can you try this test build?
BTW, if you want to use FFDShow DXVA for VC-1p decoding, you need to disable VC-1 timestamp correction in LAV splitter setting.

I was having this same problem, and was using an old build (110919) as a workaround. This test build seems to fix the issue! Thanks for figuring that out, and thanks to kekz for doing a better job bug-reporting.

There was a problems with HD MPEG-2 files and HW deinterlacing. So i created separate profile for such files and add posiibility to use SW deinterlacing.
Simply if you dont have any problems with MPEG-2 HD files, there is no need to care about that.

    Thanks :)

I'm quite sure you have 32 bit build of MediaPortal, just like rest of the mortals.

    1) There is no official 64 bit build, so you have to build such by yourself
    2) You would have to build all C++ code as 64 as well (otherwise there is no video renderer that can work - same goes with other internal filters)

    Hi hoborg,

I've just installed the test build. Is there any downside to disabling VC-1 timestamp correction in LAV splitter?

I also have some other questions:

In LAV Video and ffdshow Video, should I untick everything except NV12 to ensure that the same color space is used as Cyberlink Decoder?

Will my ATI HD3300 HW deinterlacing be used with LAV Video decoder?

In DXVA Checker, under Video Acceleration Settings everything is unticked except "3to2Pulldown_NA" and "DXVA_WMV_NA". Should I tick "DXVA_MPEG2" and "DXVA_MPEG2SD" or anything else?

In ffdshow DXVA, the xSD profile has both H264 and VC1 unticked and subtitles enabled, whilst the default profile (which I assume is used for everything over 1280x720) has H264 ticked and subtitles disabled. Is this correct?

In ffdshow Video, both the MPEG-2 profiles have horizontal Zoom set to 5. Can you explain the reason for this please?

    That is SW overscan :)

I never touch any DXVA setting in DXVA checker, keep the default.

DXVA is disabled for SD material becouse of hi quality subtitles. Image need to be resized first to HD, then add subtitles.
