    Hi all,

I have a quick question regarding the scanning of satellite channels.

I have Sky and am just using the cable out of the back of the Sky box into my TV card.

When I go into config -> tvservers -> mypc -> tuner and select the LNB Setup tab I get totally confused.

It has 4 lines for 4 different satellites. As I have a single LNB do I just select 1 of the lines? Also, what do all the drop downs mean (DiSEqC, etc.)? On the satellite drop down which one of the many options do I pick when I have Sky?

I assumed many people would have asked this question so I did a search and hunted for a wiki about it but couldn't find anything. Sorry if I missed it and thanks for your help. :)

    Bob.

Sounds like you are going into a diseqc switch - have you tried it with the reciever off?

I believe if the reciever is on then the lnb is getting the signal request from the box and not your dvb card. I would set your diseqc to tune AA.

Also - take the reciever out of the picture and plug just your dvb card in - to make sure you have it working properly, then put the reciever back in the mix.

I'm not using the receiver, I've got the cable from the Sky dish going straight into my card.

It's not an equipment problem though, it's an understanding of the MediaPortal configuration dialogue.

If I only have a single LNB on my Sky dish (which I do have) why on the dialogue is there 4 lines for satellite?

And which satellites from the drop-down list do I choose?

    Thanks.
