Hi,
I've been having troubles with scheduling back-to-back recordings ever since changing over to TVE3. In the old TVE2, in MediaPortal Configuration, there was an option to 'ignore pre/post recording within block for back-to-back recordings'. I'm set to start recording 2 minutes before program starts and stop recording 5 minutes after program ends. So, if I had a program scheduled from 8:30 to 9:30, followed by a program from 9:30 till 10:30, the first schedule would record from 8:28 till 9:30, then the second schedule would record from 9:30 till 10:35 - worked perfectly.
Since upgrading to TVE3, I cannot schedule back-to-back recordings. There is no option to 'Ignore pre/post....', and when I try to schedule back-to-back recordings, the first schedule goes through fine, but when I try to schedule the following recording I get a 'Recording Conflict' dialog window come up, with the options to 'Skip new recording', 'Skip conflicting recording', or 'Keep Conflict'. In TVE2, pressing 'Keep Conflict' would return me to the schedule recordings screen, with both programs scheduled and the pre/post settings ignored - worked perfectly. In TVE3, in the 'Recording Conflict' dialog, pressing 'Keep Conflict' does nothing - the dialog window stays up and I can't schedule the recording. Pressing to 'skip' either the new recording or the conflicting recording works, but that's no good because then only one program is scheduled. I typically use the Xface skin - I tried scheduling some back-to-back recordings in Blue Two & Blue Two Wide to see if it was a skin issue; as it turns out, those 'Blue' skins don't even offer the option 'Keep Conflict', only to 'skip' one of the programs!
I only have one, analogue Tv Tuner - I'm guessing it's a non-issue for people with multiple tuners.
I've tried with the 'Conflict Manager' both on and off - I get the same behaviour either way, scheduling back-to-back recordings does not work. What does the Conflict Manager do? Does it even work?
Lately, I've been working around the issue by scheduling a manual recording to make one, big long recording. This is far from ideal.
Any ideas? Anybody else having this problem? Anybody with a single tuner & TVE3 NOT having this problem? Please advise if any further info is needed.
Regards,
Trav.
