I can test, but only on my live system so it will be intermittent testing at best.Migue already started testing, but are there any other users who can test? As long as nobody else can test it probably won't be commited.

What surprises me: All channels are logged on the same frequency. is that correct?
If you have the time BTW:
Could you make a dump of the complete network info?
A good tool for that is the trial of DVBStreamExplorer - MPEG2 / DVB Transport Stream (TS) Analyzer | Download Trial
Also a tool called TransEdit can do the job.
That should give the correct data as it is on the network, so i can verify what MP does with it.
riksmith said:For my cable at least all the clear QAM HD channels are put together in groups of 3 on the same frequency with the same transportid and different serviceid and pmtpid. So for example CBS HD, NBC HD, and KTLA HD are all on 607250 in frequency terms. Non HD clear QAM channels seem to be put into groups of 8-15 channels on the same frequency like 655250 in my scan.
Hope any of this helped you fix this problem. I will make a dump of my network info if you still need one.
This is the same for me. The HD channels take up more band width thus they can only broadcast a few per frequency, but the non HD channels use less band width thus more can be stacked into a single frequency (public access channels don't need much room).
I don't understand much about how the Tuner and media portal interact so can't help there, but have found that you can check a lot of channels fast by using the preview on the TV server. Put your left hand on the Alt key and the v key (Alt+v). This will preview the channel. Make sure you highlight the first channel you want to check then preview it. If it comes up scrambled, unable to start graph, no audio/video, or some other error that means the channel won't work, hit the return key to clear the error and arrow down with your right hand. Once you get into the pattern, things go pretty fast. When you find those strings of channels that work you can use the Alt and F4 (Alt+F4) key to close the window and repete the right hand key strokes to move to the next unknown channel. Once you get a run of channels that are good or bad, high light them and place them into a group. This will help you keep track of the good ones and the bad ones.
It would be great if there was a program that would do this as what people are really looking for is if the channel will give you an image and audio. All channels that produce an image and audio are always unscrambled, but not all unscrambled channels will produce an image and audio (with respect to ASTC/QAM cards that are in the United States and available over the counter-not cable cards from your cable provider).
Hope this help, and wish I could do more to help test.

There is a button for that in the channels section: Test timeshifting.

I didn't realize that is what this button did. So I just gave it a try on my setup. Right now I have one hybrid card that has 2 tuners on it and a second analog tuner. I have the channels combined that are on both cards. When I ran this test, all the analog channels were left checked, but none of the ATSC/QAM (I have cable and look for clear QAM stuff) channels were checked. Specifically they were UNCHECKED. So for some reason it didn't find any of the Clear QAM channels that would only be picked up on my ATSC/QAM hybrid card.
Any other testing I can help with?
Steve
Can you provide logging for this?
Sure. First I need either a quick tutorial on how to do this or if you can point me to a link where it is explained I'll do my best.

It should be pretty simple:
All channels you want to test should be checked.
Make sure you map all channels to the correct cards.
Press the button.
Wait.
