ScreenControl plugin for MediaPortal v0.4.0

Dear community,
I've updated this plugin to version 0.4.0 and now it is ready for downloading. This release contains major improvements and new functions, so please read the attached manual carefully.

New highlights and informations for users:

• the plugin allows now to switch between different screen modes and resolutions, to adjust the brightness of connected displays and/or to jump a screen after self defined time periods
• screen jump and brightness functionalities works only in background, to use the resolution change functionality you must insert a button manually inside your preferred window (see chapter "Installation" for example code)
• if MediaPortal is not the active foreground window, Screen Jump and Brightness functions are disabled.

Micro, you are a genius!

It works very well and this is a GREAT plugin! The possibillity to automaticly jump to PLAYING NOW after a number of minutes is something I have been in need for, for a loooong time. Amazing job!

Haven't been able to test this extensively, but I believe there may be some incompatibility with the FanArt handler plugin, because the screen never jumps to the settings I've chosen (only tried it while playing music). In fact, no jumps at all. I haven't been able to change the brightness either (in the Configuration part)

I'm running MP 1.02 in WinXP MCE + XFactor skin (version 479) with NVidia graphics FYI.

sorry if the plugin does not work correctly, but I don't use the fanart handler plugin and it was also not part of my test plan.
It would be interesting to known if ScreenControl works correctly, if the fanart plugin is disabled (if possible). Currently I don't have enough informations about system related changes, functionalities and configuration options for this plugin. Maybe in the next step it would be helpful to discuss this with cul8er.
To solve the problem I need to create an extended test environment, time for debugging and testing are also required. At the moment I can't do more.

I tested the plugin again yesterday (only using Blue3Wide), but it didn't work for me sadly. I'll try removing some plugins and try again soon when I have the time.

hmmm, very strange. I've tested the plugin today with different MediaPortal versions (1.0.2 and latest SVN) and skins, but I cannot detect any problems or incompatibilities with other plugins.
But I want to help to solve this issue. In the first step we want take a look to your display device. Please install HTPCInfo and tell me, which values do you see for "#HTPCInfo.DisplayDeviceCurrentRefreshRate" under different conditions (Music, Video, TV playing). This (and other internal) values is used as an indicator to detect the current user action (TV/Video is on/off, Music is on/off). Maybe, this is one issue why these plugin does not work correctly under your system conditions.

ScreenControl plugin for MediaPortal v0.4.2

Hi MediaPortal Community,
this plugin was updated to version 0.4.2, now a new functionality to turn off connected monitors or displays is implemented.
Du to internal changes it is required to re-configure your power settings in the configuration dialog. For more informations please take a look into the attached manual. Skinners or developers can find also some useful hints to enable the new development mode.

I would like to see a black screen and safe standby feature. You push the Power button and the screen gets black and the system goes standby
