That would indicate that a null entry for the directory field is being saved...

Have you assigned a directory for recorded tv to any of your cards?

I am not sure where your recording will save if it has a null directory entry.

Kev

The assigned directory is the same for all cards, the TV server directory

The recordings are saved to the correct directory

New Version 0.2.0.14

This update is a little more complicated than usual.

Firstly, there where a few bugs in the multi-select display for recorded programs. Then there was the need for some new custom HTML pages for people using Risu's brilliant custom layout.

You will need to download the new version as normal.

If you are using "HTML for Recorded Program Entries" on the HTML page of the manager program, and you are going to use the new multi-select layout, paste in this code as a "starting point"

<table cellspacing = 1><tr><td>!!!CheckBox!!!</td>
<td nowrap align=left width="98%">
<a !!!ToolTip!!! href="javascript:load('!!!RecordingId!!!')">!!!Title!!![35]</a></td>
<td align=right>!!!WatchedImage!!!</td></tr></table>

If you are using Risu's layouts, you will need to add the 2 html files in the attached zip file to your custom html directory as well.

Sorry for the complications - I hope this is all clear.

Kev

I was going to update that layout for the latest changes but I've been just too busy, thanks Kev :) I'll look into updating the whole package later and do some cleanup.

Much appreciated - especially by everyone else!

I am afraid that my web designing skills leave a bit to be desired!

    Thanks Risu...

    Hi liberation,

I get the same error if I set the incorrect server name on the "Database" page of the Web Interface Manager.

This indicates a network error where the server can not be located.

If you are using the full version of MSSQL, make sure that you have not selected the "MSSQL 2005 Express" option, as this will append the "\SQLEXPRESS" string to the server name automatically.

Otherwise, double check the server name.

    Kev

    Hi Big_Kev,

I've been playing around with this software for some times, and I find it very cool.:D
I'd like to make a small suggestion of a new (hopefully) usefull feature: what do you think of having an additional (e.g. "system control") menu item that would allow you for instance to reboot the machine or turn it off / standby / hibernate it? Do you think that would be feasible?
Many thanks again anyway for everything...

Thanks for the suggestions. I will have a look at it.

I am not sure how vista will react to being told to shutdown / restart / standby etc remotely with UAC running, but I will see what I can find out.

If anyone has some info on the necessary commands / security tokens etc that would be very helpful.

    Kev

I have a question for Web Interface users....

I am thinking of including a backup/restore facility into the application so that you can manage and schedule backups of the TV Sever database.

This would be useful if the database is corrupted so that you do not loose all of your info on card / channel mappings and recorded programs etc.

I was thinking of a system with a baseline backup each week with daily incrementals ...

Is anyone interested in this feature being added?
