Server update from XP to W7 messed up TV (1 Viewer)

Hi VdR,

Is the change to UNC simple or not? I have spent so much time this week getting the server working and moving all clients over to using the server I don't know if I could face more hassle.

Hi there,

UNC is simple....

I share out the root of my timeshift and recording drive (although you can share out the specific directories - but you will have issues withplayback of some recorded TV)

Then run the MePo config program with /debugoptions

Under the TVClient section there should be a new debug option. Select that and then tick the use UNC path option.

As J. says. It is really simple.

The problem with recorded TV (from reading the forum, not experience) is that the .ts files have to be all in the same folder (cannot be in sub-folders). So you have to set a custom path for recorded series in the TV server set-up. You can make it the same as for single recordings.

I'm with you; moved all the media files from one set-up to another, had to change video card and tuner cards for W7 compatibility, changed the clients to properly connect to the new set-up. Had enough for a while ...

Just a small update. I went over to UNC and noticed a small change in zapping speed.
