Hello Everyone

I am new to Media portal and the forums.

I have been running a Media Center PC for almost 3 years now, and have gone through all the trials in egtting things to work. So i am pretty much familiar with most concepts.
I been using Microsoft Media center 2005 addition.
This works well.

I have installed Media portal, as i want to be able to stream my tv to other PC's around the house.
After initially struggling to get the streaming to work, i have finally got it right.

But these are my issues.

My Tv card is a Huappauge 150.
It is connected to my Tv Decoder via the SVIDEO connection, as i have no standard TV aerial, just a satellite dish connected to the decoder.
In Tv Server setup, i cant scan for the channels that the decoder provides.
I can add the svideo channel. But how do i add is as the source?
So that i can have source always as svideo, and all the decoder channels added on top?
Also how then do i configure my remote blaster to change the channels on the decoder?
I use the standard microsoft remote kit.

I have also tried to use the xmltv plugin to import the EPG.
This does not work. Error given is the that xml file is in correct format.
This is the source of the EPG i use ZAXMLTV

Please any help would be appreciated.

Hi as for the fisrt issue, i was being an idiot and managed to add all the channels.

How do i get my MCE IR to change the channels on my set top box?
There seems no where to set this up.

The EGP, and body got an idea how to resolve this issue?

I have not read the guide by bolders, but I am also using the same xmltv file than you. What I did:
Create the channel in TVServer channel setup. Try to use the same name as in the xml file. This will make mapping easier. Create the channel with the DSTV channel number, example SuperSport 2 number 202, and change the source to your relevant svideo source. Do this once for all channels.

Activate the xmltv plugin. put the xml file as well as the dtd file in the same directory. Do the mappings. Import the guide.

Like Geov said, IR Server Suite can handle the channel changing on your decoder.

Your info on the xmltvguide. What you suggested is exactly what i have done.
The only difference is that i have no dtd file. Where do i get this file, what does it do?

I will in mean time attempt to do Bolders xmltv setup.

Ok Great found dtd file in the xmltv install.

And i am sorted.

Now to the IR Server.

EPG Working well.

Got the Channel logos, but where do i put them?
I am running the TV server, so there is no
C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Thumbs\TV\Logos
folder. I made one, but this didnt work.

IR Server i have installed with the TV2 Blaster plugin.
Firstly, in Tv Server configuration there is no option for the plugin, which is were i would expect it to be.
As i need the channel to be changed from remote pc's too.
In MP configuration, i find the plugin.
I try and configure it, find my DSTV pansat, and test. After adjusting and fiddling i eventually get the timing mostly right, but certain numbers dont work well. Namely 4,5, and 8. Can i re-learn these. If so where?
Ok so i start MP to check if it changes channel. And no it doesn't. My testing works in setup, but in MP the IR transmitter does nothing. Have a missed a step?

Then lastly. I am running the tv server. The pc with the server also need to be able to watch TV. I can connect and it works, but when ever i change channel, it turns off the TV stream?
Also if i am watching on that computer, and attempt to patch into the stream form another, it tells me Error, no free card available. Surely this is wrong?

Since you are using TV Server, you need the TV3 Blaster from IR Server Suite.

Logos - are you on XP? Try below this path: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal

I am trying to get logos into my TV-guide, i got a load supplied with the indigo skin, but cannt find where to put them I tried as above but there are lots of thumb folders, do i put them in a logo folder within a folder.... HELP ... idiots guide needed please!!!!

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\tv\logos

rekenaar I have installed the TV3 blaster.
This shows up in the tv server settings.
I have configured it.
It still does not work.
The IR immeter does nothing, only works when testing.

Reading the IR server help files, it says i need to setup my tv channels and mark them as external.
How and where do i do that, i have searched hi and low and cant find where to do that.
Please could you help.

Ok I have got IR Server working. Seem all it took was using the Test build version rather than the current version. Works great now.
Only issue i have is the up down left and right buttons dont work on the MCE remote. How do i fix this?
Cant seem to find how.

Ok fixed that issue, just took a re-install of IR server.

My final issue before i have a working TV server system.
The client streaming please read bellow.
Why can i no stream to my clients at the same time??


Then lastly.
I am still unable to view a stream on two different clients.
It says no free card available.
How do i fix this.
The tv card i have is a single tuner, so i understand i cant tune into 2 different channels, but i should be able to view the same channel on to different clients shouldn't i?
I read in another post about hybrid cards, do i need to set my tuner up as a hybrid card?
Can anyone help?
