I just installed 8.12 again, because i read it would fix the poor 2D performance (browser scrolling...) which it actually did. But the stripe returned, so i reverted back via HDD image with 8.11.

Sorry it does not work for you. Which pixel format did you choose?

Well, my conection is by DVI, so i have no option for pixel formats like on this screen:

thats what i meant, but those settings dont influence the stripe anyways (tested it)

I fiddled around with CoreAVC settings and could reproduce the shiny stripe by just choosing RGB32 as the only output format for CoreAVC. Enabling all output formats let the stripe disappear again.

It's getting pretty annoying with ATI's drivers. With 8.11 I luckily don't get the shiny stripe but the slow 2D performance isn't fixed. I tried 8.12 and 9.1 and in both the stripe reappeared.

I "fix" it by change hardware from ATI 3200 to Intel HD4500, there are no such problem.

I had to install 8.12 again because i couldn't live with the slow 3D performance anymore. Overall the Aeon skin is more fluid now and more responsive. But now I'm stuck again with the duplicated edges.

I only have this problem with some files. I'm trying to read out the media information to find out what the files with this behavior have in common.

If you experience the same problem, please share.

I have this same problem. I have an HD3200 with 9.1 drivers. It appears to occur where the video is a resolution smaller than that set for the TV.

i.e. I get it on some 720p mkvs and some AVIs of a lesser resolution, but my TV is set to 1080p. I haven't yet seen it on an item of 1080p resolution, so it does appear to be related to scaling in some shape or form.

Haven't found a fix yet - if anyone has any ideas?

    Solution (I think)

I got help with this problem on AVForums.

It is misleading because it seems to be an ATI issue, but it is actually a codec issue.

I uninstalled the codecs I could by using System rstore to revert to an earlier state in windows and then installed the SAF codec pack.

Got rid of the problem. - shiny pixel high lines on the edges of the movie (reverse of the opposite edge of the image).

I have since done a full install and am using the same versions of Catalyst - tried 8.11, 9.1 and 9.3 that were showing the symtpoms previously.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi.
Same problem on MPC-HC decoder and Cyberling MPEG2 = no codec problem.
I bet trouble causer is ATI hardware resizer (upscaler).
No such problem on Intel GPU (no idea about nVidia).

No problem with nVidia and the same codecs. I changed from ATI because of constant bugs like this and never looked back.

    Hi,

I tried alternative codecs and got the same problem.

It is something to do with the Mediaportal install and the codecs. If you can revert, I think you will get over the problem. I had the same problem with evry codec and ATI HD3200, but a new install fixed it.
