ShortCuter uses RawInput API to intercept keystrokes, it seems that HIP generate these events in a different way than a normal keyboard or the application which I normally use for test (iMon).
I need time to try HIP with my library and to figure out what I can do...
@golbe: can you try the attached dll with your configuration and HIP?
Anyone else who wants to try the dll is welcome: if there are no regressions, the changes will be present in the next version (V2.1.0 with Skin Navigator)
It works just great. Thank you for recovering this useful plugin!
version 2.1.0 is available, new features:
Skin Navigator (lets you create a dialog box with custom links, according to the active MediaPortal window)
sound effects are disabling when MP player is active
change method to intercept modifier keys - necessary for some applications that emulate keyboard (HIP/..)
Download from repository
Soon will write documentation, especially for Skin Navigator feature.

the important thing is to see all the data
@nicsergio I noticed that plugin prevents our new generic HID implementation to work https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/index.php?threads/128941/
Any idea why would that be?
HID is parsing WM_INPUT and they apparently get swallowed by ShortCuter.
seems strange.. when I have a bit of time checking the code

The vision of the MediaPortal project is to create a free open source media centre application, which supports all advanced media centre functions, and is accessible to all Windows users. In reaching this goal we are working every day to make sure our
software is one of the best.
The team works very hard to make sure the community is running
the best HTPC-software. We give away MediaPortal for free but hosting and software is not for us. Care to support our work with a few bucks? We'd really
