Team,

having a strange situation on my Zotac HTPC. in principle, the system is is runninng smoothly after reboot (even HDTV, Video, aso.).

Issue starts after a couple of hours: TV is shuttering (all channels - not HD only) - even the audio is breaking up a couple of times in a minute for around 1s. In worst cases, Mediaportal crashes after a while. After reboot - everything works fine another set of hours. BTW: System is running all the time.

So far I changed the Video/Audio Driver (I was using SAF6 before) - updated to the newest versions of TV Card driver / Video driver, aso. - no impact, same issue! and it is with different versions of Mediaportal (I started with 1.2.0 beta).

Below I mad two traces - hope you can find the issue (I'm not really an expert on this traces).

1) MediaPortalLogs_25_09_11__20_00: Mediaportal crashed after a while
2) MediaPortalLogs_25_09_11__21_22: HDTV with shutter and audio is breaking up a couple of times

Thanks for your support!

Mike

    Hi Mike

It looks like the issue is that the stream from the tuner has *lots* of corruptions:

    Recorder:pid 17de Continuity error... 1 ( prev 7 ) - bad signal?

This could be caused by a few things (in order of likelihood, highest to lowest):
    - bad signal quality
    - virus scanner checking the timeshifting files or stressing the HDD
    - overheating
    - other USB devices

Please try to check all those things.

Also, quite a few people recommend using driver version 1.0.2.20 with the 3650:

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...support-322/technotrend-ct-3650-usb-ci-71192/

Some people also say 1.0.3.8 (the version that you're using) is okay. It possibly depends on the encryption method.

You could also try increasing the "delay before TV Server detects cards" (wiki) and/or ensuring that TV Server is always restarted after resume from sleep/hibernate...

    mm,

Thanks for your recommendation. After various test the issue was: overheating

Funny enough, obviously the air circulation of the Zotac box was not optimal. Since I placed the system in a more open environement - it works......

    Thanks again!

    :(
*Well done* for discovering this and *thank you* for reporting back - it isn't easy to identify some of these strange problems!

    Excellent! :)

    Best regards,
    mm

    Hi,
just a comment on Zotac boxes.

There wall mount that is supplied is totaly useless (unless u want to overheat the unit)! I have tested ;)
Try to place it with at least 5cm or more free space on both sides.
