Hi Marduk.

I am relativly new to MP but have managed to download and install version 1.3.

I would like to have your skin for it so I downloaded the archive file for version 1.3 but I now have no idea what to do with it as there does not seem to be an .exe file to install it.

I´m sure that I´m probably missing something obvious but any help in installing your skin would be apreciated.

You did download the .mpe1 file, didn't you? You should just double click it, and the skin will be installed. MediaPortal has it's own installer system, called MediaPortal Extension Installer. Should find it under start --> All Programs --> Team MediaPortal MediaPortal.

I downloaded from the link on the download page that says:
Archived File 1
Xtreme_v1.1.0.0beta1_for_MP1.3beta.mpe1

There are 2 folders inside after extraction. one is: Installer{CopyFile}, the second is: Installer{Font} and the third is an XML file called: MediaPortalExtension.

Thats it.

In the first folder there are 2 aplication files but none will run. As far as I can see there is no executable file - unles I´m being really stupid and cant see the wood for the trees.

Have I downloaded the wrong one?

I downloaded from the link that you provided, and double clicked the file after downloading, and the setup starts. So I don't know why it is working for you

Hi Dallas,
as written by Kjarrig, you have only to double click on Xtreme mpe1 file you've downloaded (it is the proper one for MediaPortal 1.3 Beta and RC) and the installation of the skin will start automatically (no manual extraction needed).

I´m sorry guys but it just wont work for me. If I double click on the downloaded ZIP file it just opens the zip folder and shows me the 2 folders and 1 XML file that I mentioned earlier.

I have downloaded it again and it is doing exactly the same thing.

Am I doing something wrong because other people seem to be having no problems.

I am running Windows 7 and everything is up to date as its a week old installation. I did this so I could use MP 1.3 with the skin I am now trying to install.

Xtreme_v1.1.0.0beta1_for_MP1.3beta - is the name of the file. I have downloaded it 3 times now and exactly the same thing is hapening. As soon as I double click on it the zip folder opens and shows me 2 folders and 1 file.

...probably a stupid question (excuse me if this is the case): Have you installed MediaPortal 1.3 RC prior to try to install the skin?
I ask you this because the file that you can download from Xtreme download page as Archived file 1 is not a zip; installing MediaPortal you'll have the proper mpe1 file association to MediaPortal Extensions Installer.
If you have already installed MediaPortal, you have to try to associate manually mpe1 files with MediaPortal Extensions Installer (right click on the file, choose "open with" and then search for a program called MPEInstaller)

Ok, try one more thing, find the MediaPortal Installer, start --> All programs --> Team MediaPortal --> MediaPortal and you should see MediaPortal Extension Installer. Open that. Go to File --> Open and browse to the location that you saved the Xtreme file. Choose the file and press open. If that doesn't help you, something must have gone wrong in setup.
