Found it but not sure we can easily fix it...
Had a chat with hwahrmann who is the music guru and I think this is possibly quite deep routed in the cross-fading stuff and not easily resolved.

On the plus side he is going to look at reworking the whole BASS interaction stuff for 1.3...

I identified the svn revision in which this bug was introduced. Rev. 27215. This should make fixing this bug simple.

I have tried to reproduce this, and cannot reproduce it with cross-fading set to 0 and fade in/out disabled in config. I don't know which of the two makes things work fine, but I suspect it is the cross-fading.

    Can anyone else confirm?

It is the crossfading timing setting to more than 0 causes this issue. This is corroborated by the suspect changes in rev. 27215.

    MediaPortal v1.1.6.27733:

    My findings:

    fade in/out (disabled) + cross-fading 2.5s (enabled) = Working properly
    fade in/out (enabled) + cross-fading 0s (enabled) = Working properly
    fade in/out (enabled) + cross-fading 2.5s (enabled) = Not working.

    So Seidelin is right :)

    On it...

    fade in/out (enabled) + cross-fading 2.5s (enabled) = Working
    fade in/out (disabled) + cross-fading 2.5s (enabled) = Working properly
    fade in/out (enabled) + cross-fading 0s (enabled) = Working properly

    So working fine now :)
