    A slightly related question:

Since RC2 and continuing to RC3 plus svns, ITV HD hasn't been working.

As you created the fix in the first place - I was wondering whether, as well as the awesome EPG update, you were able to get ITV HD working again?

    Fantastic work DJBlu!

To clarify, do we have to have the latest SVN installed or was the problem the 2008 distributable? Can anyone give tips on how to install the SVN build over RC3 as I can't see how to run repair install after creating backup MP folders (per option 3 here)?

Erm .. ITV HD wasn't me, I beleive that was integrated by one of the developers.

Just the 2008 distributables are required and no you don't need to use OpenTVtoXMLTV as this TSWriter does it all for you.

    Ok,

I have just created groups in my TV server database that correspond to that of the Sky EPG

    Entertainment etc...

Every channel that should be in these groups has Guide information. However the only problem channels are the Adult channels. I will be looking into this later in the week.

If like me you have your groups like that of Sky then be sure to add the correct channels

One that messed me up was Teachers TV as I added Teachers Tv<-- lowercase.

thanks DJBlu - I have installed the new runtime, and it doesnt hang now... just waiting for the EPG data to appear now... will let you know how it works out.

out of interest... what flags do you use in the epg config? Do you have always try to fill gaps ticked, and what about the always update flag?

I have ticked both of those, but left off the 'when timeshifting' one.

I have ticked both of those, but left off the 'when timeshifting' one.

I would also be interested which of those boxes need to be ticked, but I am also not quite sure how to get the EPG working- I have scanned for channels and placed them in groups (i.e. BBC, ITV, C4 etc.) but I am not really sure what to do next as I am not sure what these instructions mean:

"Now in you need to select the channels needed for the EPG grab.

Freesat - TV Channels -> TV Epg Grabber -> BritShorts [28.2e]
Sky UK - Radio Channels -> Radio Epg Grabber -> EPG Background Audio [28.2e]
Sky Italia - TV Channels -> TV Epg Grabber -> Alice [13e]

Now you should get the EPG. A full Sky EPG grab can take upto 60mins (8days 587 channels)."

Can anyone clarify the above? :D

yeah mate... in the tvserver config, go to radio channels, and radio epg grabber... select the EPG Background Audio entry, and English as your language...

Then start up mediaportal and go get a coffee... let it do its thing and it will pull in the epg data for you :)

I have it working now.. not sure if the import has finished as some channels dont have any epg data yet (sports 3, setanta chans and others for example) so I will leave it a bit more time and see what happens.

    Thanks DJBlu!

Didn't DJBlu say it can take an hour, so perhaps lunch rather than a coffee :)
