hi all, long time no post

just rebuilding MP for first time in 2 years, using MP 1.1.1. release. at this point I just want UK freesat EPG, not bothered about sky, may try that later.

I thought I understood that freesat EPG now is supposed worked out of the box (i.e. djblu's original thing, was now part of the release) but I can't get it to work . I no longer have BritShorts on a channel scan, which is the channel that thought used to carry the EPG data (right?).

can someone repoint me to the required freesat EPG configuration for MP 1.1.1 release

Indeed, Freesat EPG is now working out of the box.
However, BritShorts no longer transmits the Freesat EPG. You have to select the radio channel "Freesat Info" (11427H/27500). Be careful to look for it under the radio channels, not the tv channels.

In my case, I also needed to add this specific transponder to the satelite list that came with MePo (C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\TuningParameters\dvbs). When I did a scanned scan using the default list, it didn't load the "Freesat Info" channel. Not sure if this is a general bug or not but it can easily be fixed. fyi. I'm using MePo 1.1.0.

thanks. not quite working though. I am using 1.1.1 of MP freshly built. I have that channel from a scan but its tuning details are very slightly different (1142800 vs 1142700 ). I selected freesat info as the only EPG enabled channel and I get the following in EPG.log:

well, I listened to the "Freesat Info" channel as audio in preview, and it sounded like the audio was breaking up. Also, it seemed to be set as an encrypt channel?? so I deleted and recreated the channel from kingofsat settings, it didn't work, compared to old logs, noticed a difference in one of the values, changed it again ,this time it tuned and audio sounded clean. EPG now working.
info on kingofsat is wrong says PMT 3600 it should be 2600.

I've tried the one at the front of the thread - and read through upto page 80 where 1.0.2 was the current version and am told to go to front page and use that - but it seems to have been updated and there doesnt seem to be an archive I can find

I've tried the latest vesion with Mp1.1.1 and the epg grab works brillantly - unfortunately the same cant be said for mp1.1.1 - which keeps on crashing - using the same plugins on 1.0.2 everythings fine - but webepg is a pain - so - any chance of the old MP1.0.2 version being posted?

Backup your TsWriter.ax. Extract the content of the zip file to the Team MediaPortal/MediaPortal TV Server program directory.
Use the Radio EPG grabber to grab the channel "EPG background audio" for the sky UK epg.

I don't understand this?

My missus is a pain when it comes to change, but even she can use MP now on version 1.2.0 with the Miroslav/DJBlu SVN installed.

She even now knows what to do in the morning when the TV has been switched off and Windows 7 has made MP go into a box in the top left, although I have a HDMI Detective on the way to resolve this..
