Hi,

I still cannot see Brit Shorts on 28.2E (that was what I had been scanning - I didn't realise the site I quoted was referring to another satellite). I have scanned several times since and still no sign of it.

Can anyone list the various parameters that I need to add the channel? Are other users' EPGs still getting data via this channel?

Pretty sure mine's still using BritShorts - I haven't changed anything since I set it up. I don't know how many channels have EPG on BritShorts and how many are on the special EPG radio channel though, so it may or may not be picking up the BritShorts stuff properly.

I should be able to have a look at the channel parameters on my system tomorrow morning - if nobody has replied by then I'll post the details.

Edit: I happen to have a log from a few days ago with me. Here's the tuning details for Brit Shorts from the EPG log:

Still wasn't showing in a full channel scan. I could only get ITV HD on that frequency.

I've used your channel settings on a spare channel that had been picked up and it is now working perfectly again.

Since istalling the new svn I've been having epg issues selected epg background audi and brit shorts but getting limited guide data. I think I have reception issues with epg background audio so that's my problem but according to the logs I'm only getting data for 13 channels:

Arquiva GEO UK?

This isn't Brit Shorts.

You need to have this channel selected with no others selected in the TV EPG settings. What your log shows is the grab for the now and next of all the channels on the same transponder as Arquiva GEO UK.

Sorry it 's a result of me following up on a suggestion from earlier in the thread. I edited a spare channel with all the tuning details from brit shorts as supplied on the thread.
Results were the same as with the original scanned version but without doing a new scan and loosing all my dvb-t data i could not show log for the proper version.

I dont think (correct me if im wrong) the 'grab whilst timeshifting' option is relevant to the sky epg. I think sky only send the details for the current and next program on the individual channels, and not a full listing.

Sky do send EPG data on every transponder for all channels however it is only the Titles and not the Summaries.

Summaries are there too for now and next along side the channel.

The only real annoyance left is that it's the EPG data along side the channel is read by TV server at all ( like all other DVB app's do automatically) It's also somewhere in that data that info is sent to the sky+ box that tells it when a program is over running or running late to change the recording to match.

Series Link would be nice but Often the data in the EPG is bad and it messes up even on a sky box media portal has Almost as good a thing in it's own advanced recording setting which works well, most of the time. Series Link isn't so important.

Now and Next is always carried as it has to be. It is DVB Standard. This will give you the data for the transponder of the channel you are tuned to.

What I was on about was the details like when you press up and down on a sky remote you get the programs that are coming on in the next 6-7 hours. This gives you the titles data for all sky channels for about 6-7 hours.

Have you tried the "update EPG whilst timeshifting"? The timeout of 2 mins should be sufficient. This will update anychanges to channels that are over running.
