As promised.

This TS Writer will give you the Sky Numbers as per your Sky Box.

How to use.

*** Backup your original TSWriter ***

Unpack all files included in the Zip file to your TVServer directory.

In your TV Server directory you should see a file called "regions.dict"

Open this in Notepad.

You will see a list of Regions.

i.e.

#4097-11=England (BBC) / London & SE (ITV)

All the lines start with a '#'

To select your region simply delete the '#' from the line and save the file.

i.e.

4097-11=England (BBC) / London & SE (ITV)

Now scan for your channels on 28.2e and it will update the Channel Numbers.

For this method to work in MediaPortal you will need to go into MediaPortal Configuration and Change the following in the TV settings.

Select channel by Index (non-US) must be DE-selected.
Show channel numbers must be selected.

Enjoy.

If you do not wish for the TS Writer to renumber your Channels simply delete or rename the regions.dict file.

For this to work correctly I recommend you delete all your Sky Channels and re-scan.

This should work for Sky Italy too, I haven't been able to test it. Just simply rescan on 13e and it should number them for you.

DJBlu, I thank you, but grudgingly.

You do realise that with every release and feature enhancement you make to your code, you push me harder and harder towards getting satellite installed and investing in a few DVB-S cards?

You are a bad man! :D

    That's Awesome DJBlu.

Does this mean that The scanner will now also pick up channels where the service ID is inactive( the Channel is off air) but the channel is on the EPG too??

    but will do.

I am working on quick hacks at the moment. The next release will group the channels into "Entertainment" , "Movies" and such.

    Cheers for that.

If your looking for a quick Hack. How about If you know what the HD flag is and where it is in the data. adding a HD tag to the end of the description for HD programs. Sometimes it's a pain to find out if a program is really HD or not it's a feature. on the sky box epg.

It's nice to just have an EPG that works on media portal.

Will this scan and label the channel names as they are in the sky guide? Some of them have obscure or incomplete channel names when you scan straight off the satellite.

You mean the ones that come up as Unknown C342? If so then yes, as I have the code for this. Most of them are just Box Office channels.

Perhaps this is the wrong place to post this, but I feel like some of the readers of this post may have that experience.

If I install CI and CAM will I be able to open a single channel, og simultaneously every channel for one transponder or every channel on every transponder ?
Does it work the same way for DVB-S and DVB-T ?

    Totally wrong thread.

There are other threads for this.

You can though in theory open every channel on that transponder should you have the entitlement for all the channels that are on the same transponder.
