Over the past few days i have been messing around trying to get DiSEqC motor support actually working with TVE3 but have been unsuccessful. I am using the latest technisat WDM 4.4.1 drivers with the lastest SVN of TVE3. the motor does move with unmodified technisat drivers using SS2DiSEqC.exe 1.2. I am able to run a scan once the dish is pointed correctly using the external application.

I have read other posts saying that frodo has implimented motor support for skystar cards but did not find any posts of someone actually confirming that it is working.

Is there someone out there that has this feature working? if so can you please post your driver versions and setup configuration?

Thanks,

No idea sorry - the code is in SVN and looks sound.
I guess just enable the motor support from the tuning tab and start from there.

well i have been trying out some other applications for the last month but nothing looks as good as mediaportal. So went and installed mediaportal rc1 newest svn with tve3 and tried to get motor support working again but alas it will not. Using latest technisat 4.4.1 WDM drivers, ss2diseqc1.10.exe works just to move it, my theatre also works to move the motor but tve3 will not. I can scan in a single bird just fine with tve3, just cant move the motor.

i have also been looking around on this forum some more about successful skystar2 motor control stories but havent found any.

can someone please have a look at this and get to the root of the issue. the skystar2 card is rather common and it is a real shame if there is no way to get it working properly.

    Thanks,

to perhaps give the developers some clues into this problem i have attached the tv.log file.

    some background:
I have moved and stored 2 birds, 91 (pos2) and 82 (pos1) (moved with ss2diseqc1.1exe, stored by clicking store from in tve3). before capturing the log the motor was tuned into 91. i selected the other bird in tve3 and hit go. a bunch of stuff is logged but the motor doesnt move. also for some reason my signal level meter never shows anything but quality does.

Also nothing happens when i select move right, left, up or down. i can capture the logs for this as well if it would help

IIRC frodo implemented that for the BDA drivers as they are lacking diseqc support.

So i should be using 4.4.1 BDA drivers?

I thought the BDA drivers for my skystar card had absolutely no diseqc support.

I tried the BDA drivers and they dont work either. i get a 100% level and a rather low signal quality (30-50%), along with no motor movement. with the wdm drivers i got 0% level and a 80-95% signal quality, also with no motor movement.

those signal level readings where done on the same transponder.

I am not sure what else to try. its a shame that this card doesnt work with mediaportal. does the twinhan 1020a work better?

Well - you get what you pay for...
None of the cheap cards does handle diseqc well (if at all).

it seems strange that the card would work so well with dvbdream, my theatre and mibi's ss2diseqc.exe...never failing to move.

i think i may just get a twinhan instead..

are the genpix's or something supported?
