Slow/Freezing channel change on MP1.15 (1 Viewer)

I'm currently swapping between windows 7/10 on seperate drives with an aim to get Windows 10 and MP running smoothly together, I've only really got one problem left to sort out and that is channel changing on 10 is very slow and sometimes freezes, After a change the previous channel shows as a still image for several seconds before changing to the selected channel, Zapping on win 7 is perfect just as good as a STB I reckon. I would be grateful if someone would take a look at the attached logs as I've now run out of ideas on where to look.

It's taking a very long time for TsReader to get data from the timeshift buffer file after a zap - have you excluded the timeshift folders (they are on two different drives, C: and E: ) in Windows Defender?

Hi Owlsroost and thanks for taking the time to reply....

This problem has only happend since I had a drive faluire (D and was forced to move the timeshift folder onto my primary drive (C, The timeshift folder on (E no longer exists as that was just an attempt to see if it would run better on a memory stick, Windows defender is disabled on this system and no 3rd party AV is used.

OK I'm posting the fix for this problem in the hope it might save someone the hassle that I've had finding the solution.

During one of my drive swops the LNB feed to card 1 was disconnected and it seems that the TV server always tries to tune card 1 first and then hands it over to another card without throwing an error if no signal is found.

It's designed to do that by default i.e. try the highest priority tuner that is not busy first, then fallback to the next tuner in priority order if that fails. It's better to do this than just fail to record something.

The behaviour can be changed if you want to - see TV Servers - MediaPortal 1 - MediaPortal Wiki and Timeshifting - MediaPortal 1 - MediaPortal Wiki (the 'Maximum free cards to try' option).
