Not sure where that setting is. I have the video plugin disabled as I only use Moving Pictures for movies and MP-TV for tv series. Those 2 are the only things I am trying to use. Under the Codecs page, I have selected as follows. I have tried changing them up some as well.

Mpeg-2 Video: ATI MPEG Video Decoder
H.264 Video: ATI MPEG Video Decoder
Everything else: LAV Video Decoder
Source Filter: LAV Splitter Source
Audio Renderer: Default DirectSound Device
"Manually select Source and Splitter Filters*" is checked
"Use Video Codecs when playing .ts files" is not checked.
Video Renderer: EVR

I don't think any others are relevant as I am not using those, but they are pretty much all set to LAV by default.

    Hello again

    Two things...
First, could you please flick the log verbosity to debug if you're going to continue to use the "export existing logs" function.
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...tal_Configuration/11_General#General_settings

This gives us another level of info about what is going on. The alternative would be to use the watchdog to reproduce the problem - this mode automatically produces debug-level logs.

Second, although I see the hangs that you're referring to in the appllication event log, there doesn't appear to be indication as to the specific cause. I don't feel like we have a lot to go on.

If I resort to hunches I would say the GPU may be at the root of the problems. dxdiag is telling us it is an ATI All-In-Wonder HD combo GPU/TV card.
Are you running the latest drivers for it?
The latest drivers appear to be Catalyst 13.1 here (dated 23 July 2012):
    http://support.amd.com/us/psearch/P...Windows+7+-+64-Bit+Edition&keywords=&items=20

However I'm a bit confused because you've said the card is an ATI HD 3600 series card, and dxdiag is telling me that the driver date for the driver you're running is 16 Nov 2012.

The other question would be: do you have any other video/graphics cards that you could try?

After looking at it, the video card appears to be a ATI All in wonder Hd which appears to be based on an ATI 2600 chipset. Sorry about that. The 3600 is what the driver reported. I am using the same driver you linked. It appears to be an all in one driver for that series.

I also switched from the StreamedMP skin to a different one last weekend.

I have not had much time to touch it in the last week or so. When I turned it on this morning, the entire desktop was completely full of hundreds of error files. This is hopefully what you are looking for. The entire thing seems to be in a loop. The program starts up and crashes after about 2 minutes.

When I try to open Moving Pictures, it comes up with this screen and never moves.

Then it dings and crashes. You can see the memory utilization start to skyrocket.

I went through and disabled every plugin on it including moving pictures and mp-tv. After doing so, it does seem to play better.

I guess my next step is to start enabling the plugins one by one to see which is causing the problems.

Follow up...... I disabled every plugin there was. I was able to play through 2 movies. The only problem I had was when they were paused, the sound would not come back. I had to stop the move, change the Audio renderer to something different and restart.
As soon as I enabled any 1 of the plugins, it started crashing immediately. Didn't matter which one. I tried several of them. I also tried uninstalling the plugins and re-installing them with the same results.

I have now removed every trace of Media portal as well as the AVG antivirus, just in case. I downloaded a new copy and installed it after all the recommended reboots. On the first attempt to open the Media Portal Extension installer, I got a blue screen and reboot. After the reboot, I am able to get in.

And later that day..... After a clean install, I have installed Moving pictures with a single folder containing only about 200 movies with no problems. I was able to watch an entire move all the way through. I then installed StreamedMP. After installing that, the first movie I put on seemed to play great until I paused it. After I restarted, I had to go change the audio renderer again before I could hear sound. It seems to be a random occurrence. I also notice that sometimes when the audio comes back, it is out of sync be several seconds.

Follow up...... I have added all the movies back in, but only about 200 at a time and I didn't use the wizard. I added them in and let the disk watcher find them. I also added the MP-TV addon and it seems to be stable.

Ok, so I have a theory on what is causing the crashes. Maybe someone else can test this theory and help to substantiate it. There are several movies in my library that Moving Pictures seems to have a very hard time finding. A couple examples are "George Carlin: Jammin in New York", "The comedy central roast of Charlie Sheen", "The Comedy central roast of David Hasselhoff", "Megafactories: Aston Marton", "Megafactories: Coca-cola" and so on.

The common denominator with these is that when you search for them with the Imdb search engine, they do not come up, however if you search for them with Google, you are able to find the Imdb entry for them. I have been using Google to search for them and get the Id entered manually. Everything was working fine when the movies were all found automatically, until I entered the first one of these numbers, then my system started crashing again.

I am guessing this is some type of bug. Maybe there needs to be some timeout numbers changed or something. I understand the problem is primarily on Imdb's website and the way they are searching information, but this should be addressed if it is in fact found to be an issue.
