Hi all, i'm just been trying to get MediaPortal installed for the first time on my HTPC with TV Server. It's currently running Vista MCE, however i've decided to play with MediaPortal, particularly so i can stream to other boxes around the house.

So i installed SLQ Express and the mgmt console, installed TV Server
3-04-01-2007--01-12h--Rev13729

Then on both that machine and a my desktop PC i installed MediaPortal 0.2.2.0 and added on the svn 04-01-2007--00-59-Rev13729.
I then ran the MediaPortal plugin from the same TV server version.

Ok...

First step was to try to get the plugin on the desktop PC to see the server -> I ran media portal, went into the "My TV' and it came up with the screen just like the instructions, however i can't click the "Change" button. It just does nothing when i click on it.

After playing and trying to hack the xml file up, i gave up and went back to the "server".

I ran the TV Server config program, and figured out how to scan for channels. I couldn't scan for FM radio unfortunately as it says "This tuner does not support radio" or some such. I tried two different tuners with FM tuners built in, got the same problem.
No biggie.

However, when i go to the "Manual COntrol" section and choose a channel from the dropdown, it comes up "unkown channel" after thinking for 30 secs.
So i tried in MediaPortal on the local machine. It skips straight in, without asking me to config. I go to choose a channel, i get the same list, but i also get the same error of "unknown channel". I tried disabling all but 1 tuner, didn't help.

Any ideas?

Also, i gave up for the day, disabled the TV Service, rebooted, and went back into medicenter, to discover that MediaPlayer no longer works, it just crashes, when i tried to play music (it had worked 1 hour before i started playing with media portal). Trying to launch it individually has the same problem. I tried uninstalling mediaportal etc, but it still didn't work, so i have to revert to a Acronis image of the system to get MediaCenter to work again. Missus was not happy.

    Hi jgriffin,

sorry for your inconvenience. To get proper support, we need all of your log (the ones from server and from mp itself) AND your complete System-Profile.

    Regards

Thanks for coming back to me. As i had to re-image the PC, all the logs are gone!. I'll try again next weekend.
