Some episodes not being added to the database (1 Viewer)

I have 2 or 3 tv shows that won't import every episode into the database. For example, I have the entire run of True Blood but only the first 5 episodes of each season get added. All the file names are in the same format True.Blood.S01E01.avi and so on. I've tried redoing the import for that show, renaming the files (true.blood.101.avi and so on) and even added them to the database manually but only the first 5 will appear in the show listing. Any ideas on how to get the shows added would be greatly appreciated.

Delete the series from database only, run the import wizard inside mp-tvseries config and see if all files are found and matched. On the initial steps you should already be able to see why those other files are not being picked up. If they do not show at all, then they have different extensions and you need to adjust MediaPortal to support those, such as m4v/etc.

If they do show, but it still fails, then locate the mp-tvseries.log file that was created while you did these steps and provide that as an attachment.

I've deleted and re ran the import wizard several times already. As I posted above all the shows have the same file name set up and are the same format. They don't appear at all when I run the import wizard only the first 5 episodes are detected the others don't appear at all. (I can view them just fine in the Videos portion of MP but not in My-Tv-Shows). Nothing about these missing episodes appears in the log files so posting one would be fruitless, as far as the importer thinks the episodes simply aren't there at all. Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

*Update* I have try it without the "-" in the Filenames. Now it seems to work. But why? The other 65 Episodes worked fine.

Here two Pictures. In the first Screen the Season 4 is visible. At the second Screen they are not visible.

Can you move the files to another location and see if they are recognised there, might be a glitch with explorer\windows, if that works fine, then try moving them back to there original location, and try again.

Not sure if this applies to TimBer's problem but I sometimes have a "lost show" problem with TV Series. I can usually find the missing episodes if I open the TVSeriesDatabase4.db3 and do some cleanup. I use the firefox browser "SQLite" plugin and do the following

start the SQLite plugin and open the TVSeriesDatabase4.db3 file
select "local_episodes" on left side of SQLite, press search
in the search window, select the EpisodeIndex (int) field, enter -1 and press "ok" to do a search.
this give a list of "missing episodes", typically have both episode_index and series_index = -1, select and delete these rows
close the database and exit SQLite.

Then start the MP-TVSeriesConfig program. If I do another manual import I usually find the "lost shows" and can fiddle around with match by date/title or fix the series name and get the shows imported into TV Series. I'm sure there is a better way, I like the TV Series plugin, but sometimes it seems like a high maintenance girlfriend that needs extra hand holding.

@Deathman, I noticed from your screenshots that your import paths include the series name. Any particular reason for that?

What is happening in your case e.g. The Unit, is that the the parsed series name is different for each of your seasons because the parsing expression is taking the season folder as your series name instead of the 'The Unit'.

I suggest clean your db, or start fresh and create a new import path that points to the root of your series folders e.g. D:\Series. It doesnt make sense to have a different import path per series as you will need to manually approve every series you add.

    Similar problem:

After renaming, an entire season of a series were not found.
Rename again or delete the series with the MP-TV-Series Configuration did not work. Only the direct delete in the database solved my problem. Now the imports finds all missing files.

    Thx to RonD

Just discoverd this plugin and I love it with a high WAF:) when it works completely
I have some other thing that I don't underrstand, but also I am pretty new to this subject.
I have some TV series that are all separate files like Seriesname.SxEy.edisodename and those are recognized withou problems.
Some other years of such a series in on 4 or 4 DVD's containing 4 episodes.
    these are named DVD1, DVD2.....
    Also tried renaming like seriesname.S09D01.NLSubs, seriesname.S09D02.NLSubs .......
but saison9 does not appear in my TVseries. al those DVD are in the same basic folder stucture
    Seriename Season1
    Seriename Season2
    Seriename Season3
    Seriename Season4

Any Clue how to get these DVD's in also?
I read through the wiki and saw that I could use from DVD but then ik must first appear:confused:

If each DVD Disc contains two episodes, then you can do it by renaming them to "seriesname.S09E01+02.Disc01.NLSubs".

They probably contain more, so then you have to either just accept that a single episode entry (or dual with the above trick) actually plays the entire DVD disc, or you have to mess about with symbolic links (SysInternals tools can be used on Windows sytem to make it easy, or use build in Windows command line).

The best solution would be to use tools to extract each episode out of the ISO and store them individually. You can retain the video and audio codec used, so this process goes very quick.
