    Hi,

I got some little problems with my StreamedMP skin:

    1.
On my home screen there is no Close/Exit/etc. bar at the top (see screenshot). In the stremedMP Menu Editor I use the "Standard Horizontal Menu" and at the menu options "Disable Exit/.. Menu" is not checked.

    2.
Also what is a little anoying is, that if I click with my mouse anywhere on the screen the current (default) item (in my case "Series") is clicked. This happens even if I just click the screen to give MP the focus (I have it running on my second screen in fullscreen mode). So for example if I want to watch a movie I click on MediaPortal to give it the input focus. Then it automatically goes into TVSeries. Then I have to hit ESC to get back to the home screen and use the arrow keys to go to "movies" (cant do this with the mouse because every click no matter where lets it jump back to TVSeries and because of the next issue:

    3.
If I navigate on the home screen with the keyboards arrow keys to some other item and the (just) move the mouse above the MP window, it imediately jumps back to the default item (Series in my case)

Anyone else got this issues? This happens for me for ages with StreamedMP.

    Thanks for any input
    Maik

You dont get a drop down menu if you press the up button?

And MP was designed to be used with a remote, so not sure about mouse problems I dont even have a mouse connected to my pc.

    AW: Some home screen problems

Thanks for the hint. Yes that actually works! If I hit the arrow up key the exit/close... bar is shown on the top. I can then use the arrow keys to select an item and close MP.
    Nice so far!

But I cant click any button of the bar with the mouse because as soon as I move the mouse the screen is "reloaded" => the default item gets (re-) selected and the top bar disappears again! :-(

Bummer to hear the basic home screen can't be controlled with a mouse. I was really liking this improved skin until I ran into same problem as OP. I control everything on my MP with a logitech air mouse. Now I'm crossing my fingers MP 2 will offer mouse support.

Its possible to add mouse support but its a big job in its current state...it would be better re-designing basichome and thats not something we are really interested in doing at the moment as its quite functional for the majority of users.

I suggest using Standard Home for mouse users, ofc you wont get the bells and whistles but you can make use of the rest of the skin.

Too bad about no mouse support. You should try it some time -- when well-supported, it's far more convenient than a remote. Another aspect is that an RF transmission goes through walls and is more reliable in general than infrared.

The top-bar provides most of the needed support, but scroll bars are quite helpful with lists, and an on-screen keyboard for text. And, of course, the Home Screen needs to be supported. :)

Sadly, no skin I've seen allows for clicking on a timeline to fast forward or reverse -- a very handy use for a mouse. Even better is how Hulu Desktop works (and Windows Media Center if I'm not mistaken), where sliding the mouse along a timeline shows a preview of the video at that point.
