This is a repost of thread 36481 (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...ter-tv-channel-changing-there-no-sound-36481/)

It was suggested I should repost it as a possible bug under TVserver. At certain times of the day I find I get no sound when changing between channels. This happens almost every night for me after I switch between news services. I suspect it's just the combination of channels and media types. I feel the problem can be seen in the logs particularly tsreader.log at 19:06:12.869. This is when I believe the channel change (described below) to SBS occurs and tsreader fails to detect the audio... I feel the stream is fixed when I seek to the end at 19:06:56.119. Here you see in the log tsreader sync audio and video!

    Original post/descirption below.

Ok, I've finally got an instance captured in the logs. I fired up MP and tuned to Channel Nine.. watch for about a minute then went 'x' to the TVGuide and selected Channel SBS.

The video switched but no sound came through via AC3filter. After about 60 seconds I hit the 'right arrrow' to cause a seek to the end of the stream. The audio immediately came through. I'm hoping this helps locate the streaming and/or codec issue. Setup as above.

    Cheers

    Hi!
I have not tested cyberlink powerdvd for a while, but today I did. Running TV-server svn18560, and seeing the same thing. When running dscaler or Nvidia decoder there is no problem.

What I do see is that we are using same motherboard and the same driver for sound... ;)

    Hmmm,

    Interesting feedback. Thankyou tompa.

I switched from nvidia to cyberlink because nvidia screws up handling progressive channels here in AUS. I guess I need to consider other codecs...!?

Any reason why you aren't using the same SVN for both MP and the TVServer? I thought it was advisable to keep them the same or you may have troubles...

In my case its not the issue, I'm using the same SVN for both server and client.

I use the latest available SVN each week when I upgrade for both the TV Server and MP. They are often slightly out of sync.

I'd just like to say that this 'IS' still an issue. I don't believe it's a code issue as I've seen it using a number of codecs. Maybe the devs (when they can.. I understand they're busy) could look at the traces and my comments when they get a chance.

    Thanks

Same problem here... and when jumping forward / backward. Every other time there's no sound. Don't think I have the problem with ffdshow.
