Why i cant use foobar or winamp must be an bug?

Sound quality is a bigh thing when you have a good setup and give alot of money. Then you are more intressted in quality than functions. If this can't be solved i have to use another program for music and that's bad.

What files are you trying to play? Are these FLAC ?? (if so download madFLAC filter and the files sould play in Directshow player).

I play almost FLAC but some MP3 and wave too.. I will try to play another format and download the files for FLAC for windows.

WAV and MP3 should work in DirectShow player out the box. They should (roughly) sound identical to playing them in WMP.

Did you try PureAudio with output device set to your DAC (and not an ASIO device?)

Install this: ASIO4ALL - Universal ASIO Driver
Plus the PureAudio plugin.

Then configure Foobar to use asio first, this way you can test and also find which interfaces to connect to.

Then configure PureAudio to use the same interfaces. Startup MP, you may have to do some more configuring in asio4all while it's playing using the green play icon in the taskbar.

If I've time tonight I can post my settings, I use a Headroom MicroDAC connected over optical.

Yesterday i tried to use direct show internal player in mediaportal and i got it to play mp3 songs, but flac is not working and if its better or not i soundquality i dont know. Best shuld be to include winsapi to send send sound direct like winamp and foobar can do.

Is there any way to get flac working in mediaportal with internal player? i tried install codec pack and flac codec but it dosen't work.
I tried asio for all but it only works with digital decives and my DAC is connected with usb and only 2 chanel sound to get best when playing music. For multichanel i use ASUS soundcard with hdmi.

Probably yes but MP1 does not support it and is unlikely to ever do so.

For the last one, it might not pick up the right settings the first time, just click on the green play icon in the systemtray once you have music playing and you can then make sure the settings correspond. Also in asio4all you have to enable the right interface, just click the little icon in front of it to disable the rest.

This way you can enjoy bit perfect audio playback from MP!

Thanks but that would not help I used that plugin before in windows xp and it only works with digital out like spdif.
You cant use it on a analog or USB connected and it dosen't work with windows 7
I tried to use asio but it dosent work with USB.

Did you ever sort out your audio quality problems? I am in the boat as you: like FLAC, have good external DAC (non ASIo), like winAMP and Foobar sound quality but not MP's.

I Would love to use external player plugin in MP with WASAPI + EQ on. However, the extenal player plugin does not work with MP 1.1. With MP 1.2 winamp is supposed to work, but I never managed to get it working. I get winamp popping up but nothing plays. Also, I would prefer if winnamp was left in the background and not be seen.

Did you make any progress yourself?
Does Anyone else have the same audio quality limitations in MP?
