I like to have a fix for these situations too.

I can live with doing it manually if such a feature would be implemented

Did you find a solution to this problem. I now have lostS01E24 and lost lostS01E25 on my hd because that's the way it was on the bluray disc. I think it was aired as two episodes but on the same day. thetvdb list it as one episode..
