Since the old TV Client for MP and also the TV4Home TV Viewer are both deprecated i'm planning to develop a client for MPExtended TV.

Now i would like to know which features you do wish to have?

You will be able to track already mentioned features here:

wooow that would be really cool!

What do you think about these functions:
    - EPG (highlighted what is scheduled and what is currently running)
    - Search EPG
    - watch liveTv
    - Card Status (like in SetupTV under manual control)
    - program recordings
    - have a list of schedules

EPG is already planned(and in development).

Search EPG is a good point thanks!

Watch tv is also planned, it will use vlc to display the stream.

Card status is interesting, i might add this.

control schedules and recordings is also planned.

    Hi Mike.

    Sounds very promising:)

I have an old Terratec analog, that in XP worked with a software called FlyTV2000 - Developed by very talented russian guy. FLY 2000 TV

I would really suggest you to have a look at this software - Because it was and still is lighyears ahead on intuitive GUI with flexible options when compared to other PVR software(WinTV, ChrisTV, Terratec software etc.)

It was awsome to work with, because the interface was very intuitive, stable, fast, responsive and flexible - Still haven't seen any software out there, that could do channels switching this fast! - but yet again, it was on analog tuner - DVB-X is just slow nowadays:-(

Features I suggest regarding to the GUI is :
-Feature to have VERY minimalistic view - Only TV-window (Reason: possible to multitask while watching TV)
-No border option - Not even a top border!
    -Easy intuitivecontrol
    -Keyboard
    -Arrow up/down =Switch channel up/down
    -Arrow left/right =Volume up/down
    -E/G - EPG guide
    -R record
    -T=Teletext
    -S=Take screenshot
    -M=Mute
    -Shortcut for Fullscreen(ALT+Enter?)

    -Left Click - Mouse
    -Drag window around with mouse
    -Snap to edge of screen
-Drag corners to change window Size(Keep aspect ratio!)
-Doube-click changes from full-screen to windows and backwards.

    -Rightclick menu
    -Full Screen
    -Windows Size(submenu with default sizes
    -Aspect ratio
    -Transcoding profile(DIRECT, Low, Medium, HD720, HD1080)
    -Channel list
    -Record
    -EPG
    -Always on top option
    -Show/hide topmenu (?)

Please feel free to PM me - I'm VERY interested in designing a neat GUI for MPextended standalone application.

    /Morten

    Hi,

sorry I think its a bit offtopic, but I'm interested where is (or will be) the difference between your TV Client and the current WebMediaPortal? I must confess that I'm rather new to MP and have not tried WebMediaPortal, yet nor have I ever used TV4 Home TV Viewer.

I was under the impression that WebMediaPortal will be kind of a browser based TV Client? Or are we talking about exactly this TV Client within WebMP? :)

    WebMP: Brwoserbased
StandaloneTvClient: C# Application (maybe faster than the WebApp)

    => basically the same ;)

Advantage of the TV Client is that it can play untranscoded TV streams (reducing CPU usage on the server), which is not possible in the browser.
