I've got a few questions about the logic of tvserver; streaming and recoding etc.

Let me describe it in a set of scenarios and the result I expected vs the result I got!

My config consists of a server with a analog card and a DVB-S card the server is also my main client. and I have a network client.

Scenario 1
1.(local client) start watching a DVB channel.
2.(Network client) Start watching a different DVB channel.

Expected result: Each client should be watching a different channels since they are both on the same transponder.

Actual result: When I start the different DVB-S channel on the network client it switches the channel on the local client so both clients are playing the same channel.

The same behaviour occurs if I switch the channel on the local client it also changes it on the network client.

Scenario 2

1.(Network Client) Watching an analog channel.
2.(Local Client) Open "My TV" select "TV-Streams"

Expected Result: Option to watch same analog channel stream as being viewed by network client

Actual Result: Nothing happens or is displayed when selecting TV-Streams

Scenario 3

1.(Network Client) Watching an analog channel that has a scheduled recording coming up:

Expected Result: Channel should start recording in the background viewing the channel should continue.

Actual result: Recording doesn't start channel continues to be displayed correctly. Logs show the following:
Code:
8/02/2007 9:38:41 p.m. Scheduler : time to record TvDatabase.Channel 8/02/2007 9:38:41 p.m.-8/02/2007 10:30:00 p.m. Trading Spouses
8/02/2007 9:38:41 p.m. Controller: find free card for channel TV3
8/02/2007 9:38:41 p.m. Controller: got 1 tuning details for TV3
8/02/2007 9:38:41 p.m. Controller: card:1 type:DvbS cannot tune to channel
8/02/2007 9:38:41 p.m. Controller: card:2 type:Analog is tuned to different transponder

?1. There is no TV3 channel on card 1(DVB-S) (Well there is but it's Renamed to "TV3 - Digital")
?2. Card2 "tuned to different transponder" ??? Its analog there is no transponder! and it is tuned to the cahnnel I want to record.

Sorry for the long post! I havn't included logs since this isn't a bug report. Should it be? Some of it maybe just my mis-understanding/configuration

Cheers to all contribute! :D

    Hi,

It is possible that the fix may not have made it into the one SVN that was released between Frodo posting to say this was fixed and you posting to say that it wasn't.

Take it easy and give it a little while before panicking!

    Best wishes,

    Mark
