I don't have any complains about mediaportal, it has been working perfectly for a while now. However, I can't watch HD channels properly. I know it worked a while ago. However because of the lack of HD channels I've never payed attention to them. But now I've got one HD football channel I wish to watch. This channels has worked on "normal" speed before but somewhere something went wrong and I don't know what.

When I watch the football channel It gives good picture and I can clearly see it's HD. However, it seems it isn't running at full speed. I have also got another channel which is used for demo purpose only I can see opera 24/7 on it and that seems to be working properly.

I have also got a HD channel that broadcasts SD quality and switches to HD when an actual HD broadcast is being used but I've never seen this because I don't see any picture.

The last channel is Eurosport HD which gives picture but runs choppy.

I've used 3 different codecs, Cyberlink, Nvidia and FFDshow. FFDshow makes Mediaportal crash when i try to watch an HD channel, and the Cyberlink and Nvidia codecs give the same result.

My setup has to be powerfull enough to watch HD channels (I've just tested with Independence day 1080p and that seems to play just fine).

I have attached my Mediaportal logs.

It would be much appreciated if someone could help me with this.

    Hi,

how high is your CPU usage on watching these channels?

Although you say that ID (what codec, container, blue ray or HD DVD?) did work, I must confess, that I do not think, that your system is HD capable. I have a Core2Duo and a 7600GT and my system is struggeling with HD channels!

    Hi,

BTW. Do you really use the "Twinhan DVB-c CI 2033" for HD? Looking at the Twinhan specs it does not seem to support real HDTV. I know they do write it on their page. But under A/V format H.264 is missing, which is usally used for HD content.

I've done some more searching and tests. I'm watching eurosport HD and I've turned hardware acceleration off and the processor load stays under 70%. I've noticed something strange with shift + 1 though. It states that the resolution is 720x556.

Yesterday I've watched Pulp fiction in 720p and that went without any problems.

Well 6150 can't really accelerate HD fully, it's only PureVideo compatible, not Purevideo HD. I've had two mobos with that chipset and never really had any real success on HD with it, SD worked just fine. There's partial acceleration on 6150 but it's not enough by my own experience, so your only way is to do it by CPU or buy new equipment, either new GPU or mobo with HD-capability (geforce 8200 for example or some ati-board with UVD). Don't buy Ati if you have multi-core processor (it makes OSD flicker, MediaPortal bug).

    Hi,

I've noticed something strange with shift + 1 though. It states that the resolution is 720x556.

This is because the info with "!" only displays the output resolution, not the real stream / input resolution. If you want to see this, you could try to use ffdshow with the OSD turned on.

    Hi Boonald,

Try using Graphedit to see which filters are applied before it's going into the renderer (i assume u use EVR?). Make sure nothing is inserted if you're watching 1080i content.
