well checkout the nvidia forums. you will find reports about exactly the same issue occuring in Vista games like solitair :p

nvidia should better start to code some decent drivers!

Agreed, but for now want to fix this, which i'm hoping to have done.

If we can get a couple of people changing their ANTIALIASING setting, in the advanced settings dialogue to anything bar "application controlled".

Any distortion, change to another value.

All feedback welcome on this one, and remember, specifically applies to latest driver 93.71

OK, so far, so good, no sign of corruption, so for me this does seem to be down to antialiasing not being initiated properly (presumably by DX9) only when entering TVGUIDE, strange I know, but searching back through similar posts, have all been pointed out by people with higher end GPU's ie 6600, 7600, 6800, 7900 etc.

Not found one post by anyone with a 6150, 6200, 7100 or 7300, so presume from this that there is a hardware difference setting causing the problem.

Now been switching between TVGuide regularly, and no sign of distortion with the 8xS setting, that works for me (consistantly had problem, and can revert back very easily).

Now would like to see if anyone has a different setting (amazed if this universal).

Have now saved this as a PROFILE so when MP runs Nvidia automatically changes settings, so this does not effect any other program running.

If above proves TRUE, will put in Tips & Tricks under Nvidia Graphics Cards.

PS. can someone move this thread to installation, also should be renamed Nvidia display problem or something along those lines.

    Thanks

    PD,
Thanks for the tip. Although I only get the problem occasionally. I have not had the problem since adjusting the ANTIALIASING settngs

8xS solved the lightning but... I still keep getting another graphical glitch, and no matter what I do fixes this (see attached pictures).

The SVN/stable version doesn't make any difference. Changing driver settings hasn't improved the situation either. Only a restart of MP fixes it (for a while). Has anyone seen a pattern like this before?

    Edit:
For the record, I use nVidia 93.71 drivers with a 7600GS PCIe card, running on a Core Duo setup with 2GB of memory.

    Looks like Space Invaders.

Nope was not getting anything like that, whatever setting i was using.

What connection are you using, DVI, Dsub or TV out.

HDMI via DVI->HDMI adapter. This pattern only appears after having MP running for a while (haven't measured but subjectively, about 10-30min). The desktop does not show this pattern nor does the video playback. But any OSD on the video has this aswell.

The card is about 3-6 months old. The temperature varies between 52 and 57 degrees celsius (57degress is when just showing the main menu in MP, 52 is desktop). I've logged it with the nVidia controlpanel.

The case has two 120mm fans (intake/exhaust) and the card itself is passively cooled but situated near the exhaust 120mm fan.

No cables are obstructing the airflow.

I've tried running both MP and the nVidia driver on a single core now, to see if it had something to do with it (some games don't like Dual Core ... GTA:confused:an Andreas forinstance) but it made no difference :(
