Stream over web (1 Viewer)

I've opened up access on my router to my server and can login to the database from work. Media portal connects and accesses the TV service but says it cannot access the database?

Why is this? The users in the database are all set to '%' for hosts. The firewall is setup correctly (I've even turned it off to test) but still cannot connect. I assume the tvservice will pass the mysql details to the client then attempt a login.

If anyone has streaming over the web working I'd love a few pointers.

Can you be more specific on how you " opened up access on my router to my server "? Which ports? or are you doing a 1:1 nat ? Model of Firewall?

I added the server to the dmz for testing so all connections to my external IP will be forwarded to the server

What about the firewall on the other end? Does it allow all traffic outbound?

It does, and the fact that I can connect with mysql administrator and phpmyadmin to my home makes things even more confusing. Everything connects apart from mediaportal AND the MPTvClient V1.1.5. I assume it must be something to do with the way the details are passed to the client.
