Streamed MP and Large Fonts (1 Viewer)

I have the fonts set to 120DPI on my screen as normal size on a 42" screen can be a bit hard to read

This skin seems to work pretty well (other than basic home). On Blue3Wide I always just copy fonts.xml from Blue3 and that seems to sort it.

Any similar suggestions for running this skin with large fonts?

I would recommend not using large fonts in windows. StreamedMP has an installer setting which allows you to pick Large Fonts.

Did not see an option when installing but I will look again later.

I really need to use large fonts in windows as there is no other way to make the start menu and menus in apps readable otherwise.

Try this:
1. Go back to default Fonts in windows (then restart),

2. Re-run the installer to set Large Fonts.

3. Start MediaPortal to generate the skin cache.

4. Go back and set Windows Fonts to Large 120dpi.

This should work. But if the skin cache is deleted again then you need to ensure its created with your windows font set to normal.

I have never done that before so it may or may not work. Its worth a try.

Has there been any updates with Streamed MP and Large Fonts? This is essential for anyone using a 42" 1080p from 10' away. I have to have windows set to Large fonts to see anything on the screen (icons, start menu, etc). I love streamed mp but i have to have both working together. are there plans to get this working?

Yes, it would be very useful to have large fonts supported by Streamed MP.
When the large fonts setting of Windows is enabled the home menu of Streamed MP gets distorted on resuming from standby. See post 527 for details.

No, there is nothing planned for windows large fonts. We can't officially support it as it would be too much work due to the varying sizes people can choose, this is why we added a built in feature to choose large fonts.

The setting you describe doesn't solve the problem that people having a big TV screen/screen resolution cannot read text outside of MediaPortal (Windows) anymore, right?

Its only a internal setting for StreamedMP which affects the main reading font for summaries. It has no affect outside of StreamedMP.

Beside the described issue on resuming from standby I don't see any problem with the large font setting in Windows. And it didn't occur with previous Streamed MP versions. To me it looks like the root cause is not the large font setting. What do you think?
