StreamedMP and My Films v5.0 Testing (2 Viewers)

Hi All, I finally looked at skinning My Films thanks to the excellent Skin Designers Guide now available!

If you are interesting in testing and providing feedback, find attach the required skin files. To install, extract contents to your skin folder which by default for WinVista\Win7 is:

C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\skin\StreamedMP

I will include these in the next release/patch along with any bug fixes if needed. Im very new to My Films, so I may have misunderstood something or missed out an important feature.

Ahh, that is probably pointing to the old MesFilms.xml...I will ensure the BasicHome editor is upto date before release.

As a workaround, switch to 'Display Filenames' and select MyFilms.xml from the list.

thanks for the skin files, they work great!
Just one issue with the logos!
In My films configuration you can setup which kind of logo you want to use, if the one in Myfilms package, BW, the one from the skin files or custom. It seems to me that whatever option you choose the skin file always refer to the logo folder in streamedmp folder.
Do you think you can also provide "genre logos" in StreamedMP style?? then it would be perfect!!!

In this new version of my films there is also an option for the actors picture folder, there is any chance that this feature could be also added to the skin files???

Hi Gianlk, we override the system rules by placing our own MyFilmsLogos.xml with the skin. MyFilms will read this and override anything set in MyFilms configuration. The reason why we have decided to do this is so that it can pick up most of our logos by default without the user needing to spend time to figure it out themselves...an advanced user can always update this file themselves if they wish.

I was thinking about it at the time of designing the logo rules, but didnt think it was really needed...reason being is that we have textual style logos and we already emphasis the genre is bold text in most screens. Im certainly up to changing my mind about this if a lot of people disagree but as a workaround for now people can just edit the existing logo rules we have included or remove them so MyFilms does not get overridden.

Is it possible to use the fanart pictures downloaded by MyFilms in the basichome menu?
The fanart is downloaded to a user defined folder, in a subfolder for each film
