Did you try going into MPconfig>GUI and then clicking the "edit skin settings" button and selecting "enable guide coloring" under the TV guide tab.

I don't know if a skin has this kind of control over the EPG but is it possible to change the width of the channel name column, or maybe the font size? I'd like to make more characters visible if possible.

Thanks. I've figured out how to change the font size and the left position of the channel logos and text. I can also make the channel text width larger but then it overlaps the program info. I haven't figured out how to shrink the program info section so that I can extend the channel name boxes without overlaps yet.

Yes mytvguide.xml is quite a pain unless you are a professional skinner...

I've noticed that about a few things.

Even without making the channel text box larger, I've managed to improve things hugely by dropping the font size from 12 to 10 and reducing the gaps between the group name and logos, and logos and channel names. There are a few channels with stupidly long names that I've shortened to fit already, such as "Sky Showcase" rather than "Sky Movies Showcase" and "Sony Movies" instead of "Sony Movie Channel". I only have a few channels now whose names don't fit still:

Comedy Central Ex/tra
Comedy Central Ex/tra +1
True Entertainmen/t
Sky SciFi & Horror /HD
Sky Modern Greats/ HD
Disney Cinematic H/D
Disney Cinematic +/1
Sky Sports News H/D

Only the first two are slightly problematic but it's not terribly important.

Hi I have just updated to 1.3.0 and applied the patched files from this thread. Only problem I'm having is that in the TV Guide the program that I'm currently selecting is not hi lighted so I cannot determine what will play when I press enter.

Any one have an idea what I have done wrong?

Make sure you have the option 'Enable colored buttons in TV EPG' enabled.
Within MP: Go to settings -> TV and enable it.
MP Config: GUI -> Edit Skin Settings -> tab 'TV guide' -> check 'enable guide coloring (set colors on Colors tab)

Yep the patch for EPG need to be adapted correctly
I take part from default skin but that not 100% correct, this is why you see this issue.
When official patch will be done, all will be ok
