Stutter on BBC HD only (1 Viewer)

Having a bit of an issue with BBC HD on my singleseat installation at the moment; at seemingly random points it will stutter/jump.

As far as I can see the issue could be due to the codec as viewing BBC HD from another PC using MP only and it works absolutely fine. The signal level/quality is 100%/94% and this also occurs when recording and playing back

Now every other channel is fine (ITV1 HD included).

It started to occur last week when I reinstalled MP to RC4 but I am at a loss to explain this one at the moment, does anyone have any ideas what it might be?

I'm experiencing exactly the same issue. Since last week or so, BBC HD has started stuttering, both in live or recorded TV.
I don't have this issue when viewing ITV HD or Luxe TV HD.
No changes were made to my configuration so I think it might be related to the stream itself. Anyone know if the BBC changed it's encoding scheme since last week?

    Regards,

    Peter

I've been having the same issue for a couple of weeks - I checked older BBC HD recordings and they played fine so came to the conclusion that something had been changed in the stream as well.

I've tried various codecs (ffdshow, PDVD, MPC) and all behave the same. Surely there must be some tweak that can be made so VBR streams can be handled properly?

BUT - when I've played the BBC HD live and recorded on another Win7 with only MP installed (no SAF etc) it works fine; so I'm suspecting that it is SAF - maybe time to jump over and poke hoborg about it

I don't use SAF, but I've tried ffdshow before with BBC HD and it didn't even wanted to start. That is.. until yesterday when I upgraded from catalyst 10.3 to the new 10.6 and then it was fine.
However, I'm not going to use ffdshow because I still had sometimes frozen picture on other channels.

Which codecs are being used on your clean Win7 install?

    I did some further checking...
As far as I can see the problem manifests itself when using the CyberLink PDVD9 codec for viewing TV. When I switch to the "Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder" on my Win7, the stuttering on BBC HD doesn't appear. As soon as I switch back to the PDVD9 decoder, the stutter is back.
Unfortunately, the SAF4 installation of PDVD9 (unlocked SAF) doesn't allow for much tweaking of the codec (switch off/on DXVA, but that's it), so I can't see if maybe something needs to get changed in the codec configuration.

    I'm stuck...:(
