Is the only soloution to go back to XP?

Reverting to XP is not going to help. Only one of the following:

    1) use older MP version that doesnt have stricter bad packet dropping policy in TsReader.ax
    2) Wait until 1.0 is out and then use SVN version that will allow to change the TsReader behaviour (as its too risky at this stage to introduce any settings for TsReader, since there arent currenly none).

good to hear that it will an option later down the track ... :D

Since a few weeks I have also been experiencing this problem. Initially I only noticed it with HD streams, so I was looking for an answer in that direction.

About a week ago and again today, I encountered this problem with some SD channels however. SD channels that had been working without a hitch for over two years now. Moreover, the quality and signal levels are both very high (shown as 93% in tv.log). Yet I see an avalanche of continuity errors written to tswriter.log.

Some other people in this thread have reported they had no signal problems in the past and are experiencing huge stutter issues as well with the latest SVNs. Could it be that this problem is caused by something else than a weak signal?

In my case - I did the following

Rebuilt my system 10+ times in both XP and Vista
    Removed all codec
Got a new ariel and got a tech rewire all points throughout the house

In the end - My TV card (DVICO Dual Digital) had given up - and was causing the errors....

Had been working great for years.....

A new Hauppauge 2200 later and it's back to being stable - with very few / if any stutters...

Moral of the story - check your Tuner Card is not on the brink...

    Cheers

There are few possible reasons for the discontinuity errors.

    1) Bad signal (99% likely its this one)
    2) Drivers dropping data
    3) HW going bad

If you earlier haven't seen those log lines the reason is pretty simple. Those haven't been logged... what comes to the stuttering TsReader has been previously allowed corrupted data to be sent to video & audio codecs.

Tourettes, any chance that you can pinpoint the revision number when this happened. I am very unsure when this exactly happened.
And would very much like to see how it will run with the revision just before these changes.

The thing is that our cable supplier sends out bad data, even on analogue, you see stutter - so it is not the antennasignal itself, that is bad. But the DVB-C data themself, therefore it is important to be able to supply bad data to the codec and hopefully avoid stutter.

If you say the most likely reason is a bad signal, do you mean at the source? Because the signal and quality values reported in tv.log are actually quite high?
I think I can rule out HW going bad as I have three tuner cards and they all exhibit the same issue.

    1) Quality values that BDA drivers provide to applications arent 100% correct (althou there has been improvement on the driver side).
    2) Quality can vary between different spots in the time. So after 5 minutes the quality can be anything, no matter what it was previously. For example a car that drives near your house can cause interference to the DVB-C/T/S signal to that some packets are dropped (mainly true for the DVB-T). Or if someone switches lights in a different room it could cause interference to the signal (true for all types of DVB).

    Contunity error are up

I too am having a large number of contunity errors being reported in the TSWriter.log I can confirm that these errors have been going on since 1.0 RC2 and seem to be worse in SVN 20227 than 1.0 RC2.:( Something I have noticed is that in SVN 20227 the errors seem to occur in bursts evry 5 minutes (sometimes 10 minutes) See the attached log for my example. Back in 1.0 RC2 there were fewer errors and I don't see the bursting. This data is for clear QAM over a cable system. Any thoughts on how to isolate the problem?

I am sorry, I don't understand. Are you saying that the continuity errors were not previously being logged?
I'm fairly sure the continuity error problem is worse today than it was in 1.0 RC2
