I have been running mediaportal for several months with absolutely no issue whatsoever and then about 3 weeks ago every video I play begins to stutter. I have followed various threads on stuttering video on here, but cant seem to resolve it. Im wondering a if a recent video driver update from ATI has ruined things for me? Heres my system specs:

HP Compaq 2420
Dual Core 2.6ghz Processor
4GB RAM
AMD RADEON 7700 Graphics
2TB 7200rpm HD

Any help greatly apreciated as I can't use Mediaportal in its current state.

Thanks,

Paul

Whats your CPU usage while playing a video?
Also which codecs do you use?

Hi, thanks for your reply. The processor is at normal levels (can multi task with ease while playing a film). The codecs are the lava (I'm sure thats what they are called?) codecs pack - but thats what I have always used...

    Cheers again.

I have just solved a stuttering problem with help in the SAF 6 thread, it was pointed out to me that although i was displaying 24 Hz my films were actually 23.976 Hz, causing the stutter. Are you using the automatic refresh rate changer, if so check what the source actaully is and what is being displayed. Shift 1 when playing something with give you the details. This may be the source of problems, it was for me.

    Hi Vasilich,

Heres the answers to the questions you asked me:

    1. exact name and version number of your video decoder set up in MP config
    LAV Video Decoder 0.51.2

1a. selected setting for video decoding (DXVA, CUDA, software, Intel QuickSync, etc.) in settings of your video decoder.
This is set to NONE? (My options are 1. NVIDIA CUVID 2. Intel QUICKSYNC 3. DXVA COPY BACK 4. DXVA NATIVE)

    2. exact version of ATI driver.
currently 9.2.0.0 but I have rolled this back to version 8.980.0.0 with the same result.

    3. version of your OS
    Windows 7 Pro SP1

    4. video renderer type that you have set in MP configuration - codecs and renderer.
    Enhanced Video Renderer (EVR)

    5. your CPU Type and CPU usage in percents when decoding video.[/quote]
    Pentium Dual Core E5300 @ 2.6ghz
The percentage bounces between 30% and 80% when running a 1080p .mkv in mp

    I appreciate your help.

    Thanks Paul
