Thanks for your quick response, and sorry for the long delay in mine. Unfortunately, there isn't much to report.
Found the answer in the MP1 code base:
    Vendor ID: 0x1509
    Product ID: 0x925d
The HID Demo program reported the opposite:
    Vendor ID: 0x925d
    Product ID:0x1509
I've attached a ZIP file containing an executable. You should be able to use it to test basic functions of your display.
    • Unzip archive.
    • Launch MiniDisplayDemo.exe
    • Click open - see if that works.
I unpacked all contents of the zip file to a new directory and executed MiniDisplayDemo.exe (all local, no RDP). The result was an immediate crash. I have attached the text from the details pane of the error dialog.

BTW, RDP is Windows Remote Desktop Protocol. It is a popular way to perform maintenance and other administrative tasks on a Windows HTPC without interfering with the normal user interface. It has been successively crippled by MS in newer (non-Server) Windows versions and updates, necessitating patching or the use of RDPwrap. For this and other reasons, I would more likely migrate to Windows Server than Windows 10 when and if I can bring myself to invest the time and money ;-)

The HID Demo program reported the opposite:
    Alright then, I've swapped them.
The result was an immediate crash.
    That should be fixed too.

Try that again with the new version.
If all goes well you can draw on the screen through the app using your mouse on the virtual screen.

Thanks for the new version. It doesn't crash anymore, but the only enabled button is "Open", and when I click it, nothing happens.

Sorry, my mistake :-} When I reran HID demo, I saw that you were right about the order of vendor and product ID:
    Product ID: 0x925d
    Vendor ID:0x1509
A screenshot of the devices page is attached.
I managed to get a logfile without too much keyboard garbage in it (attached) by attaching a USB keyboard, but I still had to use the RF keyboards trackball to set focus in the log window to copy out the results. The logfile shows the results from pressing each of the 6 media keys under the display from right to left:
    1. Record
    2. Fast Forward
    3. Rewind
    4. Pause
    5. Play
    6. Stop
    Thanks again for your support!

Thanks for the new version; it does represent some progress :) The Open button now functions to enable the remaining elements in the GUI. Unfortunately, nothing I do in the GUI (drawing in the box, "Fill" or "Clear) has any visible effect on the display. It just shows "SCALEO E" the whole time.

That's too bad. It seems it does not respond to the specs from Futaba. I'll need to do do some thinking and investigation before taking the next step.

That's quite an impressive bit of work, especially for a 3d party doc!
I have filed an information request on the Futaba website.
You may also find some useful info on the mythTV website (but you probably already found that ;-)
    Thanks again for your help.
