Switching from MediaPortal to Explorer causes a crash (1 Viewer)

Every time i switch from the MediaPortal Window to a minimized Explorer Window with [ALT]+[TAB] (while watching TV), the MediaPortal crashes down.

This may be codec related, i'm using PowerDVD8\M$ codecs and cannot duplicate your issue.

Use the MS codecs, these are far superior to the MPV\MPA codecs and see if same thing occurs.

I have changed the MPEG2 Video Decoder to the M$Decoder and Nero VIdeo Decoder and in both situations i crash the MediaPortal wenn i press [Windows Button]+D. The Failure only appears if i watch television.

I have the same problem.
MP crash when I switch to other program while watching live TV.
It also crash if I exit MP while watching live TV.

Tried several different codecs with same result.

Which renderer are you using in MP config\directshow filters, mines set to evr, maybe if you have vmr9 selected, either switch off exclusive mode or change to EVR.

MP config switch to expert mode (top right) then its under directshow filters.

fyi. MediaPortal is designed to be used as fullscreen HTPC application not as MediaPlayer replacement.

the issue you reported is know but will not be fixed in MediaPortal 1 because it would mean to virtually completelly rewrite MediaPortal.

MediaPortal 2 (should) not suffer from this design bug in the future.
