I am trying to run Media Portal with the Technotrend S2-3200 now for several weeks but with no success. Directly after start up from power off, everything works okay but after startup from standby (I use the Media Portal built in PowerScheduler), the TV card does not work any more.
Sometimes, Media Portal displays "no audio/video detected" and sometimes, Media Portal hangs completely after coming out from standby (blank screen, which only can be exit by pressing CTL-ALT-DEL and end the non responsive Media Portal task).

Has anybody the Technotrend S2-3200 working with Media Portal and TVE3 after standby?

I read already through several forums but I have only read something about "restart your PC after coming out of standby" but that is nothing I want to do.

frodo: What about your contact to Technotrend? Can we expect further improvements here?

    Hi,
PowerScheduler doesn't work with TVE3 yet, a new version it's on it's way but that will take some time, so disable it when using TVE3 it's best..

    Hi ronilse,

    thanks for the quick response.
That was totally new information for me that PowerScheduler should not be used with TVE3. Thanks.

I have disabled the PowerScheduler PlugIn and now I get different results:
From the MP main menu, I select the power button and then "3 Standby".
The PC goes to standby after a few seconds.
I wait a few seconds and then I press the power button the casing of the HTPC and the PC starts up from standby again.
1st issue: The screen remains blank.
However, this can be overcome by pressing the up or down button on the remote control
    Then I select "My TV".
After a few seconds MediaPortal shows "Timeshift could not be started. A unknown issue has occured" (Sorry for the bad translation but it is displayed in German).

Do you need logs? Which ones?

    It is reproducible.

    Thanks and best regards,

    Andy

    Hi,
Logs are located in "(installation path)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\log\" <- this it's for MediaPortal. The one for TVE3 it's located in "Documents and Settings\All Users\Apps Data\MediaPortal TV Server\log (or just open TVE3 control panel -> Manual something & grab it from there).

Just attach the logs to your post (in "Go advanced")

    Regards
    Roy

    Hi Roy,

    ok, here you go:
    approx. 22:28 --> Standby
approx. 22:31 --> Resume --> TV not working any more
After the TV screen showed the error message, I pressed ESC and then closed MP. So the error is at the end of the log.

I can see at the bottom of the Media Portal and the TV Server logs exceptions...

    Looking forward for your analysis.

    Best regards,

    Andy

your problem is without much doubt caused by the technotrend drivers,
in general there seems to be a problem with this card after standby

I'm using a skystar hd (which is identical to the s2-3200) and I'm experiencing the same problem :(

    Hi flo,

thanks a lot for your comment. I agree that this is most likely related to the Technotrend driver because sometimes Windows even crashes when returning from standby and that is before MP comes back. Therefore, the driver is definitely playing up after standby.

To state it once more clear for everybody:
With the current Technotrend drivers there will be no function after standby.
Also, workarounds like closing MP before going to standby and reopening it afterwards will not help. Finally, I have tried to restart the BDA driver again after standby with devcon but this does also not work until the PC is restarted!
So the PC must be restarted completely to get it to work again after standby! This is not acceptable from my perspective, if you want to use the HTPC as a recorder.

From my perspecive, there is only 1 possibility:
Do not use that card with MP. I will sell mine. :(

The reason is that I do not believe that Technotrend will fix that soon...

The only problem that I have is that there seems no DVB-S2 card on the market, which just works, right? I also read some strange things about the KNC One BDA drivers...

    Any different observations?

    Best regards,

    Andy

I have a TT3200 DVB-S2 and I have same problems after standby. As flokel wrote is a problem of TechnoTrend drivers. But no others problems with TT3200...
    Hope in new drivers...

    Hi Flo, Franky and others,

I would really like to ask everybody who has problems with the Technotrend S2-3200 after standby to contact the Technotrend support and tell them your problem. I think only if many people are complaining about that there is a chance that something will change.

@MP developers: Could you please use your contacts to Technotrend to support that?

    Thanks,

    Andy
