MediaPortal Version: 1.1.3 / 1.2.0b
Windows Version: windows 7 64 bit
1. TV Card: terretac cinergy
Satelite/CableTV Provider: ziggo

Im trying to get MP working but even after 3 weeks i couldnt get the program stable.
Not the so called stable 1.1.3 and not the 1.2.0 beta are working in my case.

I searched some forums for info, and i guess its a problem with my terratec card and MP not liking it.
Other mediaportal+terratec users encounterd the same stability issues.

My questions: is MP compatible with the terratec card? and wich platform (OS version) is stable?

the errors i encounterd: (sometimes its stable only an hour)

MP 1.1.3 errors
While watching a channel i recieve the tv server connection lost error
At starting MP i recieve the tv server connection lost error
Even while listening to music i recieve the tv server connection lost error

Graph could not be started error, no channels are working

No card available error
no signal error
stream2.0 ps error could not be played

MP 1.2.0 error
Some channels not working: Program/channel not found

so i looks like mp 1.2.0 is more stable but i guess its a matter of time when its like 1.1.3 not usable at all

again, i dont know if its the terratec+MP combination+win7 64bit which gives this amazing result, are there any terratec users with the same problems?

And i also get out of sync problems with HD channels (slowing down or going to fast)

    Hi ZeropaidNL

I'm sorry to hear you're having so much trouble. Many people have various Terratec cards working fine with MP. I think it would be best to choose either MP 1.1.3 or 1.2.0b, do a complete uninstall and reinstall of MP, then work on one problem at a time. Please use the watchdog to reproduce one of the problems (instructions for using the watchdog are -->here<--) - basically just start MP with option 1 (report a bug) and then do something that causes a problem (maybe attempt to view a channel that won't work). After that, close MP and post the zip file containing the logs here. Be sure to describe what you did and what happened in detail so that I can understand the problem.

    Regards,
    mm

PS: which Cinergy card are you using? Terratec have a few DVB-C cards. It would be good to fill in your whole system specifications because the sync problems could be caused by your system not being able to handle the load.

I use the terratec cinergy c hd pci, any other users with this card?

It will be hard to reproduce the problem because it seems MP gives randomly errors.
I will try another install (that would be the 4th time) but can the instability be related to my terratec card and windows 7 64 bit?

Many - hopefully someone with that card will comment. I have the Skystar HD2 which is a Cinergy S2 clone (I even use the Cinergy drivers) and it works perfectly - no CI yet though.

You could just use option 3 to export all logs after a problem occurs.

Possibly. Could also very easily be a setting, which is why I'm asking to see logs.

I reinstalled MP and updated the drivers for the terratec card. (dont know if they already where installed)
It seems its stable for now, like it was before when i did a fresh install but after a while.. i get the outcome as described in the topic.

I will use the logging function when i encounter problems, and will post them in this topic.

If MP is running like it should i will donate a small amount.

And the out of sync problem seems to be less but is (still a little laggy in times) there a way in MP to change to hardware acceleration?

    Excellent. :)

Please do. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

No obligation, but we would certainly appreciate it. :)

Hmmm, your system would possibly struggle with h.264 decoding without hardware acceleration. The availability of hardware acceleration depends on the codecs you use in the "codecs and renderer" section of MediaPortal configuration. For you it would be critical to have the right settings there. I'd choose either the Microsoft DTV-DVD video codec (should already be installed) or the FFDShow DXVA codec. You could also use Cyberlink or Arcsoft codecs if you have them.

What i already tought: it was stable for a few hours.

After i selected a certain channel (Nederland 1HD) MP freezed.
After i rebooted MP i've got the error message: stream 2.0 cannot be played (on all channels)
After a complete reboot of te system i started NEWCS, wich gave me an error that the tv server was not ready, i restarted NEWCS a few times and the error disapeared
Then i started MP again and it seemed that it was working again but after a few minutes i got the error message : tv serer connection lost
this proces repeats itself, sometimes with differend errors and sometimes its suddenly working.

i dont know if it's working again, im not able to test it at the moment

I will post the error log as soon as possible.

That's a good one, im currently running on a wireless connection. but its configured as single seat so the system is the server/client.

I will test a cable but i dont know if the random errors are related to the connection
