MediaPortal Version: 1.0.2
MediaPortal Skin: Blue3Wide

When in Recorded TV using Blue3Wide skin, the text for folders includes title and time/date info that scrolls as a single unit just fine, but the text for specific shows has a split scroll where the title scrolls as a seperate entity from the time/date. The problem is that the text scrolls over top of the time/date making it impossbile to read... this is only happening on Blue3Wide, not Blue3.

Any fixes for this?

Is anyone in this community alive?

:D THAT question I can answer... lol

For the rest, you will have to wait for someone else. I am not using 1.0.2 and I am using 4TheRecord for recordings, so can't test. Sorry.

But I do recall a few discussions regarding B3(W) skin fixes. I did not properly follow it so can't remember any detail.
Try searching mantis and changelog in the mean time.

I'm glad you are alive :) - and by far the most responsive. Thank you. Sorry to have vented - I am not able to get responses to several issues which are preventing me from getting to the point where I can really use MP. While this issue as well as a US date format issue are quite low on my list of problems, it baffles me how something as simple as the correct date format for a region can go unaddressed, unless perhaps the MP community is simply not interested in adoption outside of Europe, or alternately has moved 99.9% to 1.1.0 (in which case tell us or formally release it so we are not wasting time on 1.0.2).

Like you, I too use FTR to record and find that it is very well written. While I have the occasional problem where my tuners become unresponsive (presumably a TV Server issue), the more perplexing of my unresolved issues are related to being able to watch and stream Live TV (during which I often have lock-ups requiring reboots which seems to cause hell on the rest of the client/server functionality... but that is off topic).

As you may know, I am fairly new (actually "recommited") to MP and really want to get it working but it has been a challenge. By "working" I mean that I want to be able to record, play and stream live TV, recorded TV and movies (using Moving Pics and FTR). At this point I am certainly over the installation hump, now fighting the quirk/bugs front (and not gaining ground).

So with that in mind and in not veering too far off topic, I have a couple of questions that I'd like to present to you.

    1) In your opinion, does 1.1.0 b or 1.0.2 have less fundamental bugs... by "fundamental bugs" I mean bugs that affect the way it records, plays and streams Live TV, recorded TV and movies (using Moving Pics and FTR).

    2) Should I use something other than the provided Blue3 skins? I tried to stay with what was provided so as not to run into a lack of support – Now I am beginning to think the supported release is mostly unsupported. Any thoughts (other than the obvious being that I can only expect so much for free:) Which incidently, I will pay for if I get it working as desired)?

    1. I am no developer so I would rather not go into a fundemental bug discussion, so let me just say that I am happy with 1.1.0beta1 and latest public SVN. See the changelog to decide if you want to give it a try or not.

    2. You must just remember that MediaPortal does not ship with skin files for 3rd party plugins like ForTheRecord. It is the responsibility of the plugin developers to provide and maintain skin files for Blue3(w). Your problem sound pretty much skin related to me. I am using another skin and I do not see the problem you describe. Maybe you should report this one on the FTR forums.

Hope you make good progress :)

Well put and understood. Again, thank you.

I did not realize that FTR would have its own version of a skin - I figured they worked within the provided skin. That sounds like a bad assumption on my part. I'll try asking FTR. They are awesome.

It is not a whole skin version. Just the files for FTR. It is about 10 to 15 files that gets added to the skin folders.

Help - FTR seems to think this is a MP problem, and MP thinks it is FTRs problem. How do we/I figure this out?

The problem is that when using Blue3Wide, the screen that lists Recorded TV titles has a problem where certain file names scroll over top of the date. Blue3 does not have this problem.

Screen shot attached for a reference.

If there is another skin that people predominately use, please let me know - I'll switch, but only if it is an commonly used skin. I try to stay mainstream to avoid problems.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi

I have just tested this on my htpc.
    See screenshot looks good.

To answer your other question, I am using xfactor most of the time, also no problems there.

    1. Are you using a standard 16:9 screen resolution?
    2. Attach your 4TR_RecordedTv.xml file from your blue3wide folder and I will compare with mine.
