Text Overlapping in StreamedMP (1 Viewer)

In several instances text within the StreamedMP skin overlaps neighboring text. The two most prevalent examples I have run into has been the Fanart Scraping notification in the upper left corner of the home screen overlapping the progress bar, and the Runtime overlapping the Certification in the movie details within Moving Pictures. A similar issue I have is text being cut off by the panels in which it appears. This also happens throughout MediaPortal. These issues happen in both full screen and in a minimized window. Not sure what the issue is here but I would greatly appreciate any insight on either/both!

could be a number possible reasons, here is a few I know of:

    1. Using Large Fonts in Windows...only the default (100%) is supported. The skin has a large font setting which can be used instead.
    2. Not using 16:9 skin ratio in either 1280x720 or 1920x1080.

do any of these apply to you?

When you say run minimized do you mean in a Window (Start MediaPortal in fullscreen mode = off)? In Window mode you also need to enable General->Skin->StreamedMP->Autosize window mode to skin dimensions.

Will there be a workaround for this as i have the same issue. I'm using large fonts in Windows 7 and text overlaps in Media Portal. Esp. the Certication and Runtime text ;-(

Nope, only normal font settings will ever be fully supported. Might be able to improve it but it will never be perfect.

First of all thank you for your response. It is great to know you can get help when you need it. Really appreciate it.

You will have to forgive me for overlooking enabling General->Skin->StreamedMP->Autosize window mode to skin dimensions. I have been adjusting settings since I found this great HTPC to find out experimentally what everything did and must not have changed it back but thank you for pointing that out.

As for the problem in full size mode, I looked into my windows font size and it is set to default 100%. The problem must be because I am using an old monitor with a resolution of 1280x1024. I did not know the skin was designed to be displayed solely on a widescreen monitor (next purchase!). I calibrated the skin to the 1280x720 resolution like you mentioned and just like that it viewed perfectly with no overlapping. This brings up another question.

To my understanding the image produced on a TV connected to a PC running mediaportal is the same image that is seen on the computer monitor. (I do not have this set up yet so I can only speculate). If this setup is done, what will be the resulting image on the TV if I use a computer monitor that isn't wide screen (i.e. Mediaportal has to be run as a window for the text not to overlap). Will it be scaled or streched, or will I see my desktop background around the borders of the mediaportal window?

What you see on computer will be the same. If you run in window mode and your resolution is higher than 1280x720 then you will see your desktop around the borders of the window. In fullscreen it will be scaled but if you are using a different aspect e.g. 16:10 or 4:3 then it might look a little weird.

Best way to run the skin is to get a tv that's supports 1280x720 or 1920x1080, personally I use 1920x1080.

That's what I needed to know thanks. Time to run out and buy a HD monitor/TV combo!
