Until that is done I could do a patch for those who needs it. It will probably be a little "in the way" but hey...

Hi Samsonite,

first I want to say that i love this skin! It's great!

Only wanted to say:

When I use the skin on TV the text is a little bit to small. :(
I know I could edit the fonts.xml, but thats not looking
good. All Buttons in the Dialogs are at the wrong place. :(
When I go to Video the list of "Functions" on the left
side is to log and hides some part of the "hoverimage" in
the video-section. :(

I hope you know what I mean. It would be great if you
could increase the font size over all and adjust the Buttons
and Dialogs for that font size. The contrast of the Buttons
agaist the Button-Text should also be better.

So the experience on TV would be perfect. :D

Thank you, I hope you will think about that.

I have used the same font size that is used in the MCE skin. My focus will not be on this matter at this point since I have lots of other things to complete first. But my intention with this skin is to drive it to be as good as possible and if it is not readable it needs to be looked at, but not right now :)

In the latest CVS the skin is that bright, you can hardly see anything on the TV. White on (almost) white is not such a good idea.

The blue before that was way better then.

It is an easy fix but I have tried it on two tv sets and I have no issues with it beeing to white. But we will see, I am not eaven sure that it is the final look for the homepage and it might still change ;)

I really love the idea of the layers in the homepage. But on the TV set this effects disappears because of the underscan area of the TV. It's much nicer when you watch it with full overscan, but then too much of the videos/DVDs is displayed. Do you know what I mean? I'd love a MP just like a set top box, considering the "industry-standards" (e.g. underscan of TV sets). Or am I totally alone with this idea? :)

But Samsonite: Great, great skin. Go on like that. Maybe we call you Mr. MP-skin someday...

What do others think about the new brightness in the skin?

Another little thing came to my mind. It's not important for this state of the skin, but to make it a little bit nicer it would be cool if the "msn"-figure in the screens is always on the same position. Now it jumps some pixels around when moving through the items. The effect would be perfect if the size, position and grading of the figure would always be the same.

about the skin being too bright etc in cvs.

Currently a lot of stuff is being done to the MP engine.
CVS is never a stable release and you can expect things to go wrong.
yesterday we had skins being completely black on CVS for instance and some people had weird colors.

This can explain your too white to.

What also can be the case is that people have their tv sets at a way too high brightness and contrast. BEcause this skin is indeed avery colorfuill and contrast rich one you will notice this very fast. I have seen people having their skins look too vivid and their movies being ok. This was because of wrong setuip of the overlay colors. So to get colors they set the TV way too colorfull and hence the skin was too vivid.
What they should have done is set the overlay controls better.

    just some thoughts...
