The sabotage of Media Portal (1 Viewer)

Guys

I really think that we need to advise people against upgrading to Windows 10 as it wrecks Media Portal. The dozens of hours (over the years) that I have spent customing Mepo and it's cool plugins are constantly being undone since I upgraded to Windows 10

Fortunately, the fantastic team of people here have be ever ready to support me. Ok, that's the background!

The current issue that I am having with Mepo is that it won't start properly and brings up a blank page. However, when I click on the Watchdog tool, to generate logs, it enables the centre as if it were the launch button itself

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean.
Could you possibly grab a picture or screenshot for us?

[DOUBLEPOST=1440048609][/DOUBLEPOST]The watchdog tool is acting like the launch button for Mepo and triggers its opening. Whereas the actual Media Portal launch icon/app does not work...it only bring up a blank screen, behind the task manager screenshot that I posted, there is nothing there.

PS: Windows 10 is kryptonite to many things including Mepo.

Ok. what do you do when you fire up Media portal? You usually hit the icon on your taskbar on click on the icon on you start panel............you are then taken through screens which say waiting for start up of tv service, initialising, loading plugins, etc. then you are in media portal. Clicking the watchdog icon now takes you through this process so after clicking it you see screens which say waiting for start up of tv service, initialising, loading plugins and then you can select movies. tv guide etc

Without the regular choice of mode? ...or only after clicking proceed?

It's strange because obviously the watchdog allowed me to upload a log, but it also starts Mepo. The Watchdog tool launches Mepo now as welll as enable logs to be zipped.

Okay, let's be really clear.

When you click on the MediaPortal icon, MediaPortal eventually comes up with the blank background shown in your screenshot.

When you click on the Watchdog icon, select the first option, then click proceed, MediaPortal comes up as normal.

If that is the case, it means the problem is caused by one of your plugins.
Please try to collect log files with the watchdog option 2.

That is precisely what is happening. The Watchdog tool stalls at option 2 and this message appears
